Dark Phoenix First Look...meh

I agree. I think the topic of a Dark Phoenix story came up on the Boards a while back, and I said this story is way too complicated and involves too many characters, and movie producers/ production companies/ execs are too lazy/to busy trying to maximize profit/don't care about adhering to source material for this to ever be attempted but...sadly, here we are.

 

They need to can all these superhero films & shows and move onto something else. These characters have been around longer than Jesus. It's about time we get some fresh form of entertainment with some new characters for a new era. That cover looks like something right off a Revlon Hair Color Kit Box.

I wish we had more fantasy like and adventure films but with minority characters. For me, they are burning these superhero films out with these revamps of the same characters. If they want to do more superhero films, can we get some new folks or something or do something else. Hell, I'll take a Captain Planet movie now at this rate....(Though low-key, I am amped for this HellBoy remake...lol)

 

Maaann, I love Sansa/Sophie Turner so I’ma be here for Dark Phoenix. I hope she shines more in this one (I’m hoping so since it’s mostly about her) than that tragic ass Apocalypse film. But real talk though, as long as she’s not like Famke Jassens’s Phoenix, I’m all in.

 

No, they can't do that because people like me who missed the whole comic book era superhero stuff appreciate it. I'm sure they probably were better back then but it still cool learning about the superheros other than the typical Batman, Superman etc. I had no clue there were so many.

 

Fox probably added this orange filter since no one let them live when the last Phoenix had no firey aura.

This looks like it'd make a nice painting,but the movie is still going to be trash.

 

Lol. Why not just research them. Comics are practically history books. They have an extensive database of superheroes that are just as old as Batman and Superman (DC). Idk. I mean I missed the dinosaur era & I wouldn't be so hip to fifty Jurassic Park movies coming out every year just because there are a lot of dinosaurs with different attributes.

However, I will say that if a Kitty, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Doctor Strange (sequel) is said to hit theaters, my interests may be piqued .

I don't care about any of the others that much tbh. Not so much as to lift them from the pages.

I might even say that Marvel is a bit overrated now... but that's just my personal opinion & I don't want to sound like a troll (DC>Marvel).

I'm only waiting for this new HellBoy. I'm definitely going to go see that but that ain't till 2019...sigh.

I love the HellBoy movies, however, this reboot is going to be R-rated. Will I be ready for that? If it ain't to gory, I'm game.

 

One of my coworkers showed it to me. Idk what it is but I really love HellBoy & I'm think I may be turning into a fanboy. I thought the PG-13 movies were great & I still watch them...(Not as much as I watch Predator, Aliens tho. I love both these movies to death!) "If it bleeds...We can kill it!!!! I'm bout to watch it now.

As far as HellBoy, they were already pretty violent as is so I guess they are trying to get darker? I didn't mind Ron Perlmin as HellBoy. That new guy from stranger things looks okay but I guess since ST is so popular for some reason, might as well snatch the characters from it.

Love HellBoy, especially when he fought Sammel in the first movie. If Sam is in the R-rated version, I'm going to be legitimately terrified..lol
