Guy suing Grindr for allowing discrimination against Asians

White men are not the benchmark. There are attractive men in every ethnicity. Why be worried about those people who are not into you in the first place. If you see "no X" and you're "X", block them and keep it moving. That way you don't have to see it.

 

Now you know darn well everyone holds white men and women up to the standards of beauty. They think whitness is the blueprint to perfection and they be all up in their faces but when they see how Whites treat them like "the help", they be getting in a hissy fit.

I was observing an adult film with Ricky Johnson and a poster said a white woman doesn't need to be with a monkey.

I think Asian men are cute but I rarely see them dating blacks or other non white men. At least here. Might be different for y'all since you live in much bigger cities.

White men and Latinos that identify as White can be a hot mess sometimes when they mouth start running and talking bout what they want.

Id date an Asian before I would the generic White American if you want me to be honest.

 

many racial minorities who complain about these kinds of rejections clearly crave white acceptance and need to begin with some self reflection around their desire. i also think it's entirely possible to not want to watch disparaging statements about your cultural group normalized every where you turn.

on tv, dating apps, news, etc., asian men are depicted as asexual, unmasculine, undesirable, and awkwardly geekish. it's good that asians are pushing back. my jack'd filter leaves only black men in view, so i generally forget white men also use the app. still, i'd be disturbed to find out that a large number of profiles read "no blacks" even though i'm not interested in white men.

at the individual level, it makes perfect sense to recommend that asians stop desiring individuals who don't desire them. but this claim is really an indictment of grindr's cultural practices -- through its silence, the app cultivates an environment that normalizes anti-asian prejudice. that cannot be resolved simply by sticking to your own kind.

i just don't understand why it's so difficult for men to speak in the affirmative. i am attracted to [...] or i am looking for [...] just sounds more clear and humane than no [...].

 

I used to be on the apps. Even though I wasn’t checking for white men, it was still jarring to see “no blacks” on profiles. I wouldn’t call it racism necessarily. I guess people’s complaints just has to do with our innate sense of wanting to be accepted.

I am always perplex when I see people condoning the "No Blacks", "No Whites" and "No Asians" thing. I am not into certain groups but when I was on a dating site, I didn't put that on there. I just simply didn't reply when someone hit me up that I wasn't interested in. I feel like when you are putting the "No Asians" thing, you are doing it for a purpose and the purpose is not a good one. Surely if you are a white guy and another white guy hits you up and your not interested, you just tell them they not your type or don't reply at all. Just do the same for everyone regardless of the race. Better yet, put what you are looking for rather than what your not looking for. If you are white and only want to date whites, just put you are looking for other white guys. There's always a better way of doing something without being a complete azz.

 

It is a strength of character issue. These are the kind of guys that are happier to win thru loss, like when a competitor breaks a leg in a race, than to beat him by running faster.

Its difficult for these men because they frame their personal relations in negative terms and at best they are either emotionally too immature to engage with, or worst they are consumed by their own inner demons.

I use labels everyday to avoid carbs and people like that, so please
give those devils their due, let them negatively self label!

 

I had a coworker who, while a few of us were out having drinks, said, 'no offense, but I'm not attracted to black guys'. At the time, he thought I was straight, and would only maybe be half offended, lol. The moral of the story is, not only did I smash, more than once, he also ended up wifed up w a blk dude.

 

For what it's worth, this was years ago and he wasn't my direct coworker, just worked for the same company.

 

I aim for Black men only on dating/sex apps. If I need to get a nutt an want reparations, I then will seek a White dude to suck my dick/eat my ass.
