This addition of Throwback Thursday features Orson Welles. Welles is best known for his legendary career (in front of / behind the camera) in film, theater, television and in radio. From his 1938 broadcast of “The War of the Worlds” to what many consider one of the greatest films ever made “Citizen Kane”, Welles is an icon. What many remember of him is his commanding baritone voice which afforded him many voice acting spots like being the voice (and face) of Paul Masson wine.

While filming one of the commercial for Paul Masson, Welles partook a little too freely and the directors and producers had to film a couple of takes before the finished product. The outtakes of a slurring Welles is funny as fuck given the contrast to his typical professional onscreen presence. Check out the behind the scene footage along with the commercial that aired.

Ayye!! Who knew Orson Welles was the turn up king?! And that was just the Paul Masson wine. Don't let him have gotten his hands on their brown liquor!
