    A Broadway dancer is accused of murdering his boyfriend inside a New York home on Friday, PEOPLE confirms. And he may have posted about the killing on Facebook in the moments after.

    Marcus Bellamy, 32, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his 27-year-old boyfriend Bernardo Almonte, who was found by police suffering from head trauma at about 4 p.m., a New York Police Department spokesperson tells PEOPLE.

    "Someone who lives in the building saw [Bellamy] walking out of the building with blood on his hands then inquired what happened and [Bellamy] made reference that he 'hurt' the victim," the spokesperson says.

    The neighbor called police and then entered the apartment to find Almonte unconscious, lying face down. After authorities responded to the scene, Almonte was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead and Bellamy was arrested, police say.

    The circumstances surrounding the killing is unclear, but the spokesperson says there was likely an argument between the pair and "a person ended up being dead."

    On a Facebook page appearing to belonging to a Bellamy, several cryptic messages seem to allude to the death.

    "Forgive me. I did it because I love you. I love you all. I loved him also," one postreads. "He told me love and hate are the same emotion. Forgive me. I know not what I do. I did it for love."

    An earlier post reads: "I am god. I give life and can take it away. So let it be. #therapture."

    Listings on Playbill.com show that Bellamy was a dancer in Broadway's Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and Tarzan.

    An IMDB page for the dancer shows that he danced in the 2007 film Across the Universe and the TV series Smash.

    You really have to watch-out for who your dating. No matter how good looking and dude is good look you cant let that blind u from red flags. Dude clearly needs mental help. This makes me very cautious when meeting new people and potential mates and not even wan to fool with online dating.

    Was social media friends with Marcus saw the post that day and thought he had lost his mind, he always posted strange shit but I never believed he was that disconnected mentally that he would do something like this. We need to also have a serious conversation about intimate partner violence in the black lgbt community, it's not cool, it's not two ladies or two niggas fighting it's abuse that ultimately ends up like this too often.

    Yo, the crazy part is that I know this guy!!! Not 'know know' but I knew him socially. We exchanged numbers at a bar a few months ago, and the theatre circle is small. Let's just say that I'm glad THAT date never happened.

    He always seemed a lil off, but 'artsy' off, not psycho killer off. I obviously feel sorry for the victim, but it sucks that he cut such a promising career so short, for himself.

    Now that he's snapped back to reality, after days of shuffling thru the holding proces, he is probably shytting himself at the thought that he'll prob be sitting in Riker's or the 'crazy house' (Bellevue) for years.

    Sad to hear about this man's passing. And yeah, choosing your partner carefully is so important. Sometimes we ignore the red flags because "the sex is good," "the body is tight," or "I'm tired of being lonely." Crazy how Bernardo looks like Ryan Leslie.

    Wonder if this was another case of an actor having trouble letting go of a character he was portraying. Considering what happened with Michael B. Jordan and Heath Ledger, it might have actually been a viable defense.
