Tell us about the movies that scared you as a kid, even if now you love it or find it laughable. What had you scared to sleep alone? If you were brave like Tommy Pickles and nothing scared you or you wanna lie and save face tell us which movies thrilled you.

The things that scared the hell outta me:

Me and my mom always watched horror movies, and I really was enjoying this one,but the ending had me like cpnoway

I watched this in a house in a the middle of the country late at night. Then I remembered I had to walk to the other side of the house in pitch darkness to go to the bathroom.:dafuq3:

OMG The scariest thing that I encountered as a child was this moment in the film Page Master:

This filled me with so much terror at 5 years old lol but for some reason whenever this movie would come on I would watch it. I would be so stressed out before this scene would come( its early on so thats good at least). I think Mr. Hyde genuinely scared me for life because til this day I actually tear up thinking about how scared I would get watching him turn into that monster!!

LOL At the risk of sounding like a major cry baby you just don't know how much of an ordeal it found to look this guy up!

This is stupid but I was a lil kid under 7 years old...

My pops took me to see Gremlins when it came out in 1984...I was good the entire movie until the very end when the father said: "...turn on all the lights. Check all the closets and cupboards. Look under all the beds. 'Cause you never can tell. There just might be a gremlin in your house."

A kid with my big imagination, those simple words scared the hell out of me that night...Even though the movie was mostly a comedy.

I vividly remember that scary moment 30 years later.

Lil kids are def affected differently by things in movies that adults would think are tame.

Makes sense. It's that psychological element of fearing the unknown. That voice over proves that a movie has a strong impact after all of the audio post-production is done.

Saw this movie when it started airing on tv with fam. Watching a horror movie in a Southern religious household is an interesting experience. Since most believe demons, evil spirits, and witches do exist and are most likely causing any problems you're having in life, it's more like watching a documentary. Still remember my sister waking up in the middle of the night claiming to see something on the tv screen and mom immediately breaking out the bless oil. Had the tv knobs and remote greasy for a week.lol

I remember I watched Candyman when I was 4. My big sister was a bad babysitter. lol. I remember there was a scene where a little boy had to go to the bathroom and he started screaming and all you could see was blood in the toilet. Shit scarred me for life. I was so afraid to go to the bathroom that I would try to hold it in as long as I could.

Horror movies only scared me if they involved some sort of evil spirit or ghost. If it was just a monster or killer, I wasn't bothered. But if it involved something that could appear randomly and disappear, I was not trying to watch it.

There were quite a few movies that bugged me out as a kid. "Nightmare on Elm St", when Freddy is walkin down the alleyway and his arms stretched out mad long, used to scare the living s@#4t outta me...
    upload_2015-10-29_13-32-51.jpeg

...but this one movie called "Dreamscape" (I'm sure no one has ever heard of it. LOL) used to freak me out all around. Especially the one dream sequence where Dennis Quaid goes into the kids nightmare to save him, and they run into the Dining Room and see the kid's dad sitting at the table and outside is all stormy and lightning and 'ish. The kids like..."he wont help us" and the a$$hole dad was like, "you damned right I wont help you!" So Dennis and the kid run out of the dining room and then The Snake Man breaks in through the window and they just show the shadow of it
killing the kid's father, as Dennis and the kid make their way out into this crazy stairwell leading down into nothing

Its crazy cus I loved scary movies as a kid. Freddy is my all time favorite. I guess the first Child's Play did leave me w a lil side eye. I had a My Buddy (Xmas gift when I was like 4), and I was all of 6 in an R rated movie theatre when Chucky came out. But for the most part, I ate up horror movies. Still do.

I actually get more scared watching the ID channel or Forensic Files late at night, alone in the dark. The killer might be tryna get me.

Not a movie but the show Unsolved Mysteries freaked me out sometimes. I was afraid that I'd be attacked by home invaders, see ghosts but have no one believe me, or get abducted by aliens.

On topic, I stumbled upon David Lynch's Lost Highway when I was a teenager. The first act revolves around a creepy guy troubling a couple that receives increasingly disturbing video tapes filmed at their house. Made me wary of strange noises heard late at night.

LOL It's kool. I saw kids that had them, but I wasn't into it. It always creeped me out, and this was before I even knew what "Chucky" was. I was more into "He-Man" and "G.I. Joe". But back on topic, I always favored horror movies as a kid, too, even tho they freaked me the f#$k out. LOL Another one that used to scare the piss outta me was "Friday the 13th", but the very end part when the girl was on the boat and Jason came up outta the water and pulled her in. Even to this day, I'll go to sleep with something like "Silent Hill" playin on the computer so I can purposely have a nightmare. I love that siren noise. #WeirdoA$$Ni@@a LOL!

You gotta see Seed of Chucky. The creator said he felt like the series had to get more comical the longer it lasted, and that movie was so totally hilarious.
