Just like in men It depends on the muscle to fat ratio and how the fat is carried and looks. If your "thick" but still look tight its fine. If your just high bodyfat lose and flabby that a problem and not healthy. I also just cant understand black womens obsession with that damn remy Brazilian hair. I dont know to me it looks funny on black women. Your black so your hair is suppose to be nappy, kninky, afro-cottony texture. But if you look like this ...call Dr Nowzaradan

i some what agree with you but i don't think fat is the new thick there is a difference most men of color like thick ladies while a few like fat chicks. as far as being unhealthy most of america i believe have poor eating habits. if any of these women went to the physician they would be told they were over weight thats just how our system works.

I don't think that any of these women are fat. They still look good with the weight that they have on them. If they want to lose weight that is on them, but as long as they are happy and healthy I am fine with it.

 

They're all fat. They have fairly attractive shapes and curves. Aren't most plus-size people medically fat unless they're a bodybuilder or more muscular than average? They look like they're wearing tight, Spanx-like body shaping bodysuits, so their shape might change a bit when the clothes come off.

But yeah, they're not as fat as Mama June, and their fat hasn't gathered in their face and given them large chins, or they're at least not displayed in the pics. And magazine photos are sometime photoshopped to remove light imperfections, but I don't know if that took place here or what would have been edited.

 

I think thick is supposed to mean you still have curves. Your BF% is still high and you are technically fat, you just lucked up with your fat being distributed in the ass, hips, and tits. Another group of ladies with that linebacker body (you know you have seen some ladies with this build before) would be labeled fat because they are carrying their fat literally on their backs and stomachs with flatter boobs, double chins and behinds.

But yeah, they are all fat for all intents and purposes.

 

Them women look nice and thick. I have noticed that a few folks that are obese call themselves thick these days.

Usually imo, when a girl is thick, she has curves and is shapely with no sagging skin or lumps if that makes sense.

I see some gay guys do that too with like saying they are thick and be wearing mankinis n stuff.

She is more muscular and in shape. Their is nothing 'held back' in tight stretch clothing that is just dying to 'get out'. She is also an athlete so I doubt if she has any health concerns regarding her weight. I would also think that she has a good muscle to body fat ratio-especially for a woman who is not particularly thin.

Also the photography here is a bit tricky-we are only seeing her from the knees up-if she was seen from the feet up she would have a longer physique and would look longer and leaner than in this pic.

 

The women on the cover of the magazine are overweight/fat. The same for this woman and women like her who have (or use waist training items) the "small waist and huge wide hips/ass" BS going on:



Saying that is not bad thing, unless a doctor can say that medical test results confirm some health issues. Nonetheless, that doesn't take away from their individual beauty as women and human beings, despite another person's individual preference regarding beauty and image. Regardless of your body size and weight, you can have health issues, especially if those health issues are hereditary.

Now, Serena Williams is thick. With being an professional athlete, part of her being thick as she is and managing to maintain her size is because of being required to work out and counter that with a diet.

 

We all know that Serena could beat some of our asses too. lol She could certainly beat my old ass lol. She is not fat, she is an athlete and tough as hell. With all of that training and stamina if you did not take her out quickly in a fight she would wipe the floor with you.

Serena would be 'good thick' as in not a stereotyped stick figure, and also not 250 pounds of wet cement stuffed into a 200 pound bag of lycra, but an athlete with a natural athletic body.

 

Serena would be considered athletic thick. She is very muscular its just covered up with a layer of fat. Plus she carries most of her fat in her buttocks and thighs. But I do remember when she was younger how some white people tried to fat shame her and tried to claim she didnt have a "tennis body". Her body really stands out when she is beside any of or tennis counterparts even her older sister. I know Im into dudes but....

I would agree she is 'athletic thick' like mojoreece said. She is just too in shape to just be regular thick imo.

I am sorry - - - those women are FAT. I am sorry to say that, they are not thick. That is FAT. Fat and it is disgusting. Ebony should be focusing on fitness and not flaunting this foolishness. The next thing you know, these big girls are going to just go get some hair and some make up... and think it is all good. NOT!
