Idk. Someone mentioned their being a gay King and I don't think so. I think they were bisexual. We all know they like to get busy with more than one person.

I've been wanting to know why SOME Black Americans are obsessed with Africa though. Most of them don't speak a drop of African or practice any of the traditions & some of them insist on shouting about Africa but aren't even donating or anything to it.

 

I don't understand why Hoteps and other Pan African folk cant understand this. Pre-colonial Africa as well was as pre-colonial America cultures had very open views of sexuality. Its not until colonialism that they had come to accept limited views of sexuality.

It seems we still want to view Ancient Africa through a colonial mindset.

But the new generation is waking up.

Not trying to change the subject / focus but this observation is why I shake my head at climate change deniers.

They pick and choose just like with the bible.

Re - gay king: yes, King Mwanga II of Buganda was allegedly bisexual. He had wives and male concubines - who among other things - did chores at the king's palace but also serviced him sexually when requested and this is why Saint Charles Lwanga and the other martyrs of Uganda gained sainthood in the Catholic Church. Re- Africa : I hate to be that guy, I really do....but please... things like "a drop of African", "donating to it" got to stop, especially coming from anyone black. The best donation you can make is book that trip to Ghana, South Africa, Kenya or whatever. My humble .2 cents...

The major religions most Africans adhere to today were all imported from beyond the continent. And religion is what drives a lot of the homophobia in Africa today. Homosexuality is, on the other hand, indigenous to the continent and by extension to all humanity.
