    There is so much more than this stuff in Atlanta guys. Don't believe the hype. Just because people attend sex parties doesn't equal anything. So far as long as people are practicing safe sex then they should have nothing to worry about. I enjoyed my pride weekend thoroughly and I did not even know about any one of these events. I went to day parties, house parties and kickbacks for the most part and also enjoyed my time in two large parks (Grant & Piedmont).

    Had an amazing time.

    I thought eons ago they actually had official schedules as far as panels and seminars. Is that no longer a thing?

    I'm all for people getting their freaks on because they live in Conservative Corners, Iowa but it's hard to take black pride seriously when it seems like that's all it's about.

    I'd be all about panel discussions about the following for example....


    • Marriage and partnerships
    • Escaping domestic partner emotional and physical abuse
    • How to be a better communicator for dating
    • Buying a home and money management
    • Seeing the doctor for things other than stds
    • Finally finishing your undergraduate degree

    These are things that I know people face and pride would be a good time to have discussions and panels for this.

    Unfortunately I am not confident that people would attend them because panels tend to be early in the morning or later afternoon when The Gays like to sleep in or have brunch. Not it's got to be a few who would actually be interested in these things.
