While I appreciate the sacrifices that porn models have made for my and many other's enjoyment, I just couldn't. Gay or straight. People still are jacking off to vintage porn from early last century. I wouldn't do porn. If I would, sure I'd do straight porn. I don't have the "gross" reaction that some have. Women are cool even though I don't really pursue them. It would be fun. Well, maybe not fun because performing in front of cameras and an audience could be somewhat stressful and uncomfortable, but I have no issue with the sex acts themselves.

I hear that too but health forums, doctors and the Cialis/Viagra websites themselves state that those drugs alone will not cause an erection, they just help you maintain it after being aroused. (Google showed me an article about a proposed drug that would provoke erections too but it's unclear if it ever came to fruition.) This doesn't necessarily mean that gay-for-pay guys are aroused by dudes--maybe they're thinking of women, or straight porn is playing, or a warm mouth/hand/body feels good no matter whose it is--but it sounds like Viagra isn't just a magic pill that makes sex with an unappealing partner a breeze.

I've seen at least a few gay-for-pay guys leave their studios and keep messing around with dudes and even straight up tell their audiences that they like guys, but I guess it's not fair to assume that every single one isn't straight. I can't read their minds. There are some gay-for-pay guys who REALLY don't seem into it, fumbling around like they're bad or disinterested in giving head or not very good at bottoming OR topping or their facial expressions look like they view a day at the studio like a boring Monday at the office. Of course, that could be an act too, or may be less related to being straight and more related to discomfort or performance anxiety in an uncomfortable situation. It's possible that some enter the situation believing they're straight and leave knowing they're at least bi, though many outsiders would say that they had to be at least a little curious or sexually open-minded to consider it in the first place.

Luke, the Broke Straight Boy in the video, doesn't seem to have a hard time performing now, but his earlier performances seemed more tentative and inexperienced and I think he temporarily left and returned to the industry citing personal issues with the work. Maybe it is just a job for him. The episode already aired and you can watch it at MTV if you have one of their affiliated cable providers. True Life explored this topic a few years ago with one of the participants in "I Work in the Sex Industry".

I saw those True Life documentaries, both of them and I'm just not buying it. The part two of that documentary was so cringe worthy and fake. Two straight buddies coming out to each other as gay pornstars and then they ended up doing a scene together lol.

I think the resemblance is intentional. In one Alien documentary, one of the writer says,

I don't think I could ever do porn. But... If I ever did (straight or gay) they would have to pay me at least in the millions plus a percentage of sales and online clicks money for it to even be an offer.

 

Heh. I think their scene released a couple of weeks after the episode aired, so maybe they used True Life as indirect advertising. Why would someone hiding his porn career discuss it on a popular documentary series?

For a young gay man that doesn't have as bright a future or opportunities as others, cuz not everyone is cut out to be a rocket skientist and has a decent exterior and equipment, it would seem to make some sense. I'd imagine it could introduce you to a "sponsor" of means to help better your life temporarily and with today's electronic inter connectivity you'd find a fan base pretty much any and everywhere you went. Straight porn isn't as heavily stigmatized anymore as gay porn is and again with connected life or the con and porn expos's it can lead you other opportunities if you can market yourself in the right way.
