Donald Glover Suicide Watch: Day One

Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) posted a revealing yet depressing letter on Instagram yesterday where he touched on his decision to leave NBC’s Community, his delayed new album, his life, his fears and a whole lot of raw emotion. Written on 7 sheets of Residence Inn notepad, the letter feels like the last journal entry found after a man chooses to end his own life.

WATCH: Walking Dead webisode series “The Oath”

It shouldn’t be a secret that the creators of Cypher Avenue hate AMC’s Walking Dead. For us the last season was just horrible. The dull acting, plot holes, boring characters…blah, blah, blah. Compared to shows like the awesome Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, WD doesn’t hold water. The trailer for the new season does look promising but Walking Dead has deceived me before…those bastards.

OPEN DISCUSSION: The VMA’s

So now that MTV’s 2013 VMAs and everyone’s live tweeting of the Awards Show is over, we wanna hear your overall thoughts. Should Miley Cirus have twerked with Robin Thicke? Should Jason Collins STILL be milking this whole gay NBA player thing? Should white rapper Macklemore have won the BEST HIP HOP VIDEO for “Can’t Hold Us” (the song most played in fitness gyms nationwide) and BEST VIDEO WITH A MESSAGE prize for that kinda pretty dope anti-homophobia music video?

Tyler Perry Called Out For Homophobia

Freelance Journalist Gerren Keith Gaynor has written a detailed and hard-hitting opinion essay for Ebony.com that digs into the homophobia in Tyler Perry’s new soap opera, The Haves and the Have Nots. Pretty scathing and accurate criticism. I doubt it will change anything though.

I could care less about Tyler Perry really. Perry makes millions off of perpetuating stereotypes and now black gay men are included into that bunch. No surprise there.
