Comic-Con International, the biggest nerd convention in the world, concluded last weekend. As usual, new teasers, trailers and exclusive sneak peeks were screened for the crowds in attendance. Not all of the footage has been made available for those of us who couldn’t make the trip to San Diego (ie: a full trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and a sneak peek look at Avengers: Age of Ultron). However, some of the trailers and teasers that have been released are still pretty impressive. Here’s some of best:
THE WALKING DEAD: SEASON 5
THE BUZZ: The most watched show on television returns this October and this trailer has us on the edge of our seats for more. Since its abysmal second season, the show has only gotten better as it hits a stride between zombie action and solid character development.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
THE BUZZ: After news broke that Ben Affleck would be wearing the batsuit in the next wave of films, fan reaction was extremely polarized. Namely mine, I hated the notion that the actor who played the hero in Daredevil, a laughably bad superhero movie, would now be taking over my favorite comic book character.
Not to mention that the director of the horrible film, Man of Steel, would be the commanding the ship. This film looks to be a mess. However at Comic-Con, this teaser trailer was released (featuring glowing Batman eyes), and it officially has me temporarily forgetting my doubts for it being a bad-ass matchup on the big screen. Temporarily.

GOTHAM
THE BUZZ: Its no secret that I’m a huge Batman fan. This show Gotham, which takes place years before Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, delves into the back story of not only young master Wayne, but also his iconic villains and the city itself. A Batman show without Batman just doesn’t appeal to me. It remains to be seen if this will just be another shitty cop show with somewhat familiar characters.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1
THE BUZZ: I’m not a big fan of this science fiction film series. I thought the first movie was decent but last year’s sequel was pretty boring. Based on the teaser, this new film looks like more of the same but I’ll reserve my final judgement for the eventual release of the full trailer. Aside from that, it’s always good to see more of Jennifer Lawrence.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES
THE BUZZ: While these Hobbit films have been no way as fantastic as the Lord of the Rings films, they have still been enjoyable visual feasts full of action and adventure. This last film in the trilogy 9and possibly the last Middle Earth film we’ll ever see) looks to be a classic return to epic form that we saw in the original series of films.

TUSK
THE BUZZ: Kevin Smith has long been known for his stoner comedies featuring Jay and Silent Bob…but after his horror departure in 2011 with the film “Red State”, he reinvigorated his career and became one to look for in the genre. This film features an odd story where a man is slowly being surgically transformed into a walrus by a wealthy madman.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
THE BUZZ: Being the action scifi nerd that I am, I’m a big lover of the original Mad Max trilogy starring racist Mel Gibson. I was very stoked to find out the creator of the original series George Miller was stepping out of doing kids films to hit the road again with Max. This trailer looks epic, especially when you consider that virtually the entire film is one long action filled car chase.

HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2
THE BUZZ: While I thought the first Hot Tub Time Machine film was pretty fucking hilarious, we didn’t need a sequel. Especially one without the entire cast returning (John Cusack opted out for this one). This red-band trailer, however, looks like a fun blend of science fiction and adult humor. I’ll catch it on Netflix.

I never had a problem with Ben Affleck being Batman.I think he could do a good job. Snyder seems like he really wanted to a a Batman film way more than Superman anyway )
Really if the whole franchise could just be put into new hands with the writing, direction and production I’d be happier.
My thoughts on your post
~THE WALKING DEAD: SEASON 5
I kinda am excited, I fell off watching this last season. But I still like the show, just got to get catch up
~BATMAN V SUPERMAN
I am excited about, I think if they do it right this will be a good movie, they need the right story for DC to catch up to Marvel Comics in it’s movies.
~THE FAMILY GUY/SIMPSONS CROSSOVER
love both these shows so I so going to watch this crossover
~GOTHAM
not so sure about this, it looks good, but not sure if I care about the City of Gotham without a Batman running round.
~THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1
I am excited about this movie I read all the books and so I been catching all the movies as they came out.
~THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES
I am excited about, even though the last movie was just OK, I still like the grandness and story.
~TUSK

~MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
this looks good, like it be a good fun action movie and I think it’s suppose to be in the same time line as the other movies and not just a remake or reboot
~HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2
not so sure about this movie, where I loved and laugh my ass off on the first movie I not sure they can pull it off again.
