The first season of Castlevania on Netflix was ‘meh’ to say the least. The second season easily overcame the lack-lusterness of season one while also adding more episodes. Season two expanded with more gore, action and characters.
The series is animated by Powerhouse Animation Studios with an art style similar to that of Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D. Season three will continue to follow Trevor Belmont, Alucard (Dracula’s son) and Sypha Belnades. Personally I’m the most excited to see how necromancer Isaac evolves.
The portrayal of Isaac -voiced by actor Adetokumboh M’Cormack- was a stand out because not only was he a Black character in anime who wasn’t drawn as a stereotypical caricature but he’s also non-heterosexual. This combination if memory serves, is a first in anime. In the second episode of season two we find out that Isaac has a warped sense of love and affection towards his abusive master. Later in the season Isaac’s loyalties are tied to Dracula and he’s tasked with helping lead Dracula armies. When that tie is severed, the season ends with Isaac’s callousness for humankind being solidified. We get a hint of whats to come for Isaac in the new trailer.
Castlevania Season 3 releases on Netflix March 5th.

I haven't seen this series and curious for I fux with Ninja Scrolls and Vampire D. Should I just start at Season 2 or for continuity of the storyline's arc I have to begin with season one?

Begin with season 1. From what I can remember, S1 has both short episodes in length and a few episodes for the entire season.
I was really scared for Isaac this season. In the sense that I did not want his character to be killed. No Spoilers though, after watching the 3rd Season I do feel Isaac HAS and NEEDS to get stronger. There are other things he is going to come in contact with that at his current level, they will for sure give him a tougher time and will be near death. All in all I did love Season 3, as I did previous seasons.
Also I don't see Camilla and her gang as the villains here. Dracula was already dead the moment his wife suffered that fate. Let her sisterhood rule as they wish, however I do expect them to run into other strong Vampire resistance. I am rooting for them though esp Camilla and the big lady Vampire of Russian decent.
