Plies: Why You Hate
As I was in the gym this morning; this song came up next in rotation on my MP3 player. I couldn’t help but think of Trayvon Martin. I don’t think we can never fully understand why they hate us so much. Thanks to Plies for this moving song.

They hate us, that is clear as day. I been reading comments on face book of people saying how it was an all white jury and where were the blacks folk in the jury…. Last time I checked jurors are made up of registered voters. So where there even enough registered people of color to even pick from? And also most people are always trying to get out of jury duty and thats a privilege, its what our predecessor fought for so that we may be apart of the change.
We have start getting more involved on every level of government, including the local and state level. That is how laws get changed.
While I agree that they do hate us, I think it keeps us going to do what we do best, SURVIVE. There were probably no black people in the jury for a couple of reasons. 1) The location where they were trying him did not have a large number of black people to be drawn at random. 2) It wouldn’t have been helpful for the defenses case to pick jurors who would have perceived to had a strong bias against Zimmerman. In Seminole County reports show that there is about 10% African American, not giving us a fair shot at being on the jury. I don’t feel that everyone would try to get out of jury duty, especially not black people around the time of this trial, because they could have hoped to be on this case. We may never all the facts behind this situation, but we can only pray that the Martin family receives justice in the way that God deems and not man.
Valid pionts my dude on what you are saying, but i am not just talking about the Trayvon/Zimmerman trial. I am saying in general we as as black people dont try to be apart of the process that changes laws, and out comes of these situations period so its hard to be apart of the solution.
