FROM THE DISCREET CITY ARCHIVES:

Well I am sure my thoughts will be all over the place with this post but I will try to keep them together.  So lets begin…I am a believer there is good and bad in everything.  There are good and bad folk out there regardless if they are gay or straight which we all know.  That being being said…just as all heterosexuals don’t get along, all homosexual folk will not get along.  No big deal right? One would think so, but it seems like some feel we gay folk should be a cohesive unit regardless of our differences, personalities and behaviors.

PictureLike we need to be a united and form a homo version of Voltron to protect the gay universe.  Really people?

Look, I beg everyone reading to go and review our mission statement.  We are a site for MASCULINE homosexual/bisexual men of color…simple and plain.  No I don’t want to have a conversation right now about what is masculinity because if you have to ask that question then maybe this website is not for you (we will have the conversation later).

There is nothing wrong with feminine men, just like there is nothing wrong with people from India.  Look, there are plenty of gay sites or gay friendly sites out there that cater to feminine mainstream gay men.  Cypher Avenue is not one of them.  We are here for MASCULINE homosexual/bisexual men of color PERIOD.  Is this a “can we all just get along” website?  We are not here to not get along with anyone.  There are plenty of men (and women) out there who love feminine men.  But we are here to embrace, uplift, celebrate and preserve masculinity for the men who love it.

Yes I feel masculinity is under attack, especially in the LGBT community.  Yes I feel the lines are being blurred. Some intentional and some not so intentional.  I don’t hate fem guys or anybody for that matter…that would require to much negative energy and I would eventually end up hurting myself.

However I am not attracted to fem guys, I am attracted to masculinity…So what.  That is my choice and preference.  I don’t need people telling my how I need to “love everyone and except everyone for who they are because we are all god’s children.”  That statement has nothing to do with who I am sexually attracted to and who I prefer to share my space and company with.  The same way I don’t like some people who may be heterosexuals, I am also not going to like some homosexuals, regardless if they are fem or masculine.

To me it seems like the folk who want me to accept the fem guys as “god’s cherr’n” don’t want to accept me as not being attracted to or wanting to share my space with fem dudes…I don’t get it.

Look…soft, meek, fem dudes come in all colors, shapes, sizes and sexual preferences.  Fem dudes, don’t feel like I am attacking you because I am not.  This website is catering to a specific niche, and a specific demographic.  If you don’t fit it, its okay…why because there are PLENTY of websites for you to fit in and be accepted and discuss your like minded issues.  Some of which we even may share.

Cypher Avenue has gotten some great feedback from our audience and readers that we are targeting.  Again I implore that you read our mission statement.  We didn’t feel like that there is an outlet for us, our opinions, thoughts, and voices…and guess what…other masculine guys have told us they feel the exact same way.

Everything is not for everybody…and all your feedback and comments are welcome. But I feel like some want this website to be “all inclusive to the homosexual / bisexual world” when from it’s incarnation and design is not the direction or it’s purpose.

Nick and I will continue to post topics that speak to our targeted audience and continue to provide the quality of work that our readers are telling us they like and admire.  Please continue to provide us feedback on how we can improve and feel free to include topics you may like us to explore or cover in the future.
