In the premiere episode of the sexy new series “About Him,” director Henderson Maddox (Steel River, The Boyz Next Door) introduces us to an attractive sexy cast sexily navigating through sexy relationship and sexy sexuality issues.
Actors Brandon Karson and Gary Lavard do a fine job in the lead roles, while apparently keeping their on set interactions professional (as physically attractive and sexually arousing as they both are).
Synopsis:
A scripted series about a young man trying to find himself and love in a confused stage in his life where he is struggling with his sexuality. Set in the 90’s the series starts off with Damien finding himself in comprising positions with his brothers best friend, Vincent.
While this first episode basically equates to (well made) soft gay porn, I give it a thumbs up for not only having quality visuals, clear audio, decent acting and an actual beginning middle and end to the story.
If the writers can evolve past the erotica and gratuitous sex scenes featured in the pilot episode to well fleshed out character development and stories, this could become one of the better black gay web series we’ve seen in quite a while.

I like the story line, but there are some inaccuracies as far as time is concerned. Also, sound is not the greatest but eh. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode. I don't mind the soft gay porn aspect included lol
My twin brother and I realized after we finished high school and college how much suspect behavior we came across like this. I could have really gotten into some sh*t earlier on in life but we were constantly on our grind lol.
This was definitely some well-done soft gay porn lol. I did enjoy it. Makes me think of what my first time could be like whenever that time comes. Until then…
It will probably be another 3 to 4 weeks before episode 2 of this and TBND ATL come out because of lack of financial support. I will be waiting….
If only I won the lotto I would fund projects like these all the time. I would do a reality-based series and a scripted series. Both would feature a predominantly black cast with some Latino castmates portraying gay/bi men. It would be DOPE. Either shoot it in L.A., N.Y. or ATL.
I watched it earlier this morning. It was cool for a pilot. I didnt find the sex scene objectional at all. In fact it made me wonder if it really goes down like that. I didnt find the graphic language surprising considering I watched the trailer and they mentioned nut a few times I could expect that. Plenty of f-bombs but that was cool as well. Didnt take to much away from the show.
Brandon Karson looks goofy but not in a bad way. Like the really cute clumsy type of guy for some reason to me. Gary is pretty hot as well. I know it was only 15 mins but I felt like maybe something was missing. It was still good overall though.
I found the visuals to be pleasing and it didnt feep amateurish at all & the audio was good with only slight shifts.
There were parts that made me grin and I loved the 90's TV montage at the beginning.:foxxxy:
I wanna see Ep 2.
Ohhhhhh… so Vincent is sex on legs. Noted.
I mean….
one of the clips in that 90's montage happened like last year.
Sound was all over the place.
After Black Bird, I'm over weird masturbation scenes.
I'll pass on episode 2.
Didn't expect that body on the best friend lol
This is scary-80% of my teenage years. Minus the fine dude. Damn!
I thought they did a good job for a pilot. Great casting, though Vincent's slight monotone was as distracting as his sexy. I'll give them a couple more episodes to find their stride.
Not bad for a pilot. Hopefully we'll see more character development throughout the series because that's what's lacking. But other than that, I thought it was pretty decent. Thanks for sharing Nick!
For someone who's been hard on some of those Gay-centered/DL-Chronicle/Freefall Webseries, I thought it was pretty good. Aside from some audio-tech/production issues which can be fixed, I thought it was good and I liked the narration and acting. Will watch for episode 2.
I watched the pilot and thought it was pretty good. I am sure as the cast develops their roles and skills the show will mature.
Ok so it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be, a little soft core pornish but it was still okay…. I'll watch to see where it goes, and I'll give it credit for not following that same tired ass gay web series formula of biting off of NOAH'S ARC.
I was skeptical about watching it…..I spoke to my boyfriend about it and he said it wasn't that bad. I pulled it up and it actually wasn't bad. I look forward to the next episode! He swallowed it tho?lol
