I think it's lame when they pretend that Annalise could die because the show clearly revolves around her and Viola Davis, but I'm at least curious about why she is hurt and who did it. I'm generally not fond of cliffhangers where the lead character, played by a star much bigger than anyone else in the cast, finds their life hanging in the balance unless there's some question other than, "Will they die?"

 

So yall mofos aint shit and got me....


but back to the question in the thread though. Does writer/director not think this shit is exactly what he didn't want to portray?

OMG....ok so...this was my first time hearing about this series so I gave it a go and boy...give me a minute to decompress...lol

In the beginning of I wasn't feeling the shotty effects and IG filters and I literally didn't recognize a single person on the show but towards the end it got alittle entertaining lol, but a good 75% of it was BS! What was Johnnie's major malfunction?! He was trying everyone at the table! I died when he was like "I'm from Ohio!!" LOL!!! Nobody is scared of you!!! And then when he was like I got a 4.0 and Allen was like and yet you go to GA State? Haha wait a minute ....I almost went to GA State..

Lol! I kinda liked Brodney, he seems sweet even though his ties with Bam are somewhat questionable...and Josh is actually cute but I definitely can see Brod's concerns with his profession?

Oh no. I'm a Louisiana Boi all the way but if you want me to be honest with you, I lived in Houston for a little bit. Lets just say I went to Splash one year with some string undies and a crop top on and the picture mysteriously got back to my cousin somehow. Anyways...the horror side of my H-town afair.

In Houston, I had a lot of horrible experiences learning about "gay culture". It was mostly my fault since I was a young naive country boy lead by a Disney happily ever after mentality....but I mean between the "Gay mamas and Daddies", (gay families), aggressive drag queens, folks sleeping with each other, fighting, alcohol, people dying of mysterious diseases, stealing, folks living beyond their means and all that. It was something else.

I wasn't particularly in it as much as I was around the environment but back when I first came. I met this real estate guy who wanted to be my "gay daddy". He had about five other boys already, with one that wanted to be just like him. Shaved his head and all! When I was fresh and new to the family, we went to the mall. This was my first time seeing men put on "makeup" to go out. While in the mall, he was dressed and the others were dressed "pretty" or somewhat effeminate.

I was just regular me, dressed nice and neat, like I am to this day but I had a lil country in my style. However, I noticed that they began to twist hard, and throw their heads and hands left and right & people started looking. I was not accustomed to this, so I felt embarrassed. He then turned and told me.."You are gay. Don't be ashamed of it, flaunt it. Twist if you want and be you. Ain't nobody Gon do shit. Let them look. They just mad" I started to slow my pace down as they walked ahead because I still felt ashamed and out of place, but since I was a young kid trying to flee from home (and yes, my real mom sheltered me badly), I didnt change who I was but I delt with it for a long while. I eventually got into a heated argument with him one night and he pulled my hair (when I used to get my cornrows back in the day..I had longer hair before I cut it.) This story also has insight on why I love cats so much. But that didn't turn out well at all. In fact, I believe I was emotionally destroyed then.

Another incident happened a year or so later when I got my own place with my "gay brother", who decided he wanted to become a woman. Long story short, there was unpaid bills, a trade boy that lied about his age, robbery, trade boy's upset mom knocking on my front door talking bout she heard her son been hanging with some "punks", gay brother's friend and her boyfriend mysteriously moving in, same girl trying to stab the guy I was "dating". My dumb self jumped in front of her and she yelled for me to move because I was to good for him....

I could write an entire book series on the things I saw and experienced in Houston. It was a very haunting and tramautic period in my youth but eh, I'm still here though. Healthy, creative and still sensible ole me, though I will say I've picked up a slight edge to my personality. I'm also very weary of "the lifestyle".

Somehow I drifted on to Cypher Avenue and saw something a little bit more different so to say.

(This is not a fem bash thing. I don't have any hatred towards them.)

 

Cause they are being 'beat for the gahwdz' by drag queens and transexuals.

I just can't imagine these chicks actually spending however long it takes to do their makeup like that on the daily. It seems impractical. It's just got to be for the cameras.

 

I loved this show and the cartoon. I'd love to see what they would be talking about now.

Everyone knows black, gay AND masculine is just all too much for the majority female audience who will watch this (like a science experiment so they can try to pick up more signs to be able to tell if their men are 'down low brothas') to digest. What woman wants to watch 2 masculine men 'gone to waste'?!

Also, do women even work in the fashion/beauty/styling industries anymore? Now that it's practically a requirement for all black female 'celebs' to have 'a gay' on the opposite arm of the one holding the bag he picked out for her to wear, I wonder how long it'll be before females start marching against the oppression they feel in the male dominated beauty/styling industry...

I agree with @RolandG and @mojoreece but again, this is why, especially in social media age, celebrities need to have qualified agents and handlers etc to man their social media presence and stop treating PR like it’s a DIY project on HGTV. Not everyone is capable of dealing or speaking appropriately to their audience in a direct manner. Dude is just the victim of good intentions but bad execution.

I saw a clip of her arguing with the doctor in the hospital, and she was really sticking to this water weight thing, even after some nurses saw her husband/boyfriend sneak in pizza and hamburgers for her. It was really sad, frustrating, frustrating, and the cause of frustration.

 

I'm so sick of these Str8 hetero homophobots & their comments. As much as we are progressing, you still have some folks that gotta be ignorant n**gas. Now, I could be wrong, and the comments could be directed towards the tone of the shows females but you just have to get tired of this shxt if it's about gay inclusion. It's a show about the black experience so it is meant for everyone; wether gay or not (Though I wish a gay version of this series was made..)

One thing I forgot to mention is even though this skit was played for laughs there's lots of truth in it. From my observations of straight women many of them will put up with damn near anything.

OMG, when I first saw endless threads, myvidster vids, and corny gay vloggers wanting to interview him, I thought WTF? Am I missing something? I mean he aight. Maybe a lil cute even. Yeah I love Martin but I didn't watch Friends a lot probably cause as a black teen I didn't relate to the characters as much. I think 50 is just being 50 and taking the opportunity to throw shots but I'm positive that there's folks out there that are having a problem with the "extra gay stuff".

Episode 2 was tame but the premiere I understand. The little lesbian segment was pointless (but I'm sure that wasn't a problem to straight dudes) and having Lawrence on there was a little much but other than that, what is the fuss about? Jamal is one of the main characters. The whole show practically revolves around him being openly gay, in a gay relationship, all while being in the music industry wanting acceptance from his father. What do you expect? People should have quit episode 1 (Season 1) if that was the case.

There's more important things that's wrong with Empire... but of course the gay agenda card will be pulled. Let's take the gays out of Empire and L&HH and black people will still go up for messy/mediocre writing and the same storylines season after season of our people acting like ghetto fools. I mean I'm still riding with Empire until I'm completely checked out, I'm still rooting for it, but I know I'm done with L&HH completely.
