I'm confident that I can hook up and the biggest part of that is because I'm in Atlanta and the other part is I'm not completely busted in the face. I'm a solid high 7 I think. If all I cared about what getting my junk wet, then it is easy. But what's easy? Because easy could be finding someone within the next hour for one dude and setting up for tomorrow night for another. But I may not be the type for that one dude who is hot as hell 2 miles away is a different story.

One thing that can exponentially increase the number of responses or initiates is using your face as your main pic instead of a decapitated torso.

 

From that statement, it simply sound like hooking up is easy for you.

I go through dry spells. I like to keep my body count low, so if I'm not dating someone exclusively I prefer to have max of 2 sex buddies on call.

I think a good follow up question would be how do you feel about it, like do you think its mentally healthy to not have any intimacy or human sexual contact? Are you denying yourself sexual intimacy because of the fear of your sexuality or possible internalized "something" that says as a homosexual man, you are not deserving of sexual or intimate joy?

AND

Being in a relationship doesn't automatically mean sex all the time or even mind blowing sex on the regular; there are plenty of sexless marriages.

 

No. It's not just me. Most of these dudes on apps be so happy to see someone put their actual face up they will inbox you just because.

I don't know what your situation is as to why you are unsuccessful at hooking up online. It could be you are in a small area, your profile needs some tightening up, the app you are using, you may need new photos etc etc. There's plenty here we don't know that could be the reason. I really can't say.

Because for some people it is "that easy" for some people. My former roommate could have f#$ked someone every single day if he so chose to. I'm one of those picky dudes that was looking for more than just hook-up sex and that's all I was encountering.
Not knocking hook-ups, I've participated in more than my fair share.

I started out as a very, very, very promiscuous youngster to two long term committed relationships to casual dating and hooking-up.
I find sex is better for me when I'm happy in a relationship.

I think you have to admit 9 years is a long time. *In no way am I even attempting to be disrespectful* but I usual hear of women going multiple years if not decades of celibacy but not (outside of preists/monks) men.

 

Intimacy has always been a funny thing with me.
I'm not demonstrative or affectionate by default () with the exception of my niece or if I were in a relationship.

I occasionally miss sleeping next to someone but I've gotten used to it.

9 years and counting is indeed a long time...considering my history.

 

Intimacy is important. It would be the thing is missed more than sex.

A trillion years ago when I had a regular eff buddy, we did everything you can imagine sexually but no hugs, no kisses, no cuddling. It was good sex. Reeeeeeaaaaaaallllyyy good sex but there was zero intimacy to go with it. It always felt so empty but, I was satisfied on the one level but it wasn't deep.

There's just something to being held, holding someone, touching, and being touched that I know I couldn't go for years without.
