This is a very powerful video... nuff said. The amount of unnecessary hate within the community it self is toxic.

I think the point they are trying to make is the division is pointless. I am sure their are people from diff groups who hate the other, When it all comes down to it we become like crabs in a barrel, which helps no one.

The only one who made some intelligent points, in my opinion, was Felicity Noire. She definitely handled that ridiculous argument of trans-people in the bathrooms being pedophiles. It's just fear mongering perpetuated by the conspiracy theorists.

With that being said, I could not take this video seriously. I'm not naming names, but I counted 3 hypocrites in this video who are whining about division, yet if you watch their YouTube videos, you'll often hear them bashing masculine men whether they are gay or straight. 1 of the 3 has a very deep hatred for men who wish to maintain their masculinity. He believes that masculine men are "faking" and that we are truly feminine deep down inside.

The rest in this video just seem bitter and unable to cope with reality. I find it interesting how the video starts off by exclaiming gay people are not a monolith; yet the majority of men/women in this video are irritated that some gay men just have differing views and opinions on the trans lifestyle. That's just reality. Not everyone is going to be accepting of you. I can't force straight people to like me and accept my lifestyle. The only thing I'll demand is respect.

I don't think you can demand 'respect' from people, and I dislike when people use that word for what I think they mean is 'civility'. Respect is earned and is 'due' nobody, while civility means I will treat you in a civil manner because we live in a 'supposedly' civil society and I will be civil to people whether I like, dislike, respect, or whatever as long as their behavior warrants being treated in a civil manner. There are not that many people I actually have 'respect' for. I have to know you or know 'about' you to respect you-respect is earned, not just given away.

*this makes me think of Ocky and the caller he helped. He was civil to the caller as he rightly should have been given the caller remained civil and his job description probably requires him to act in a civil manner to customers. But I did he 'respect' the caller?

You have a point when it comes to the verbiage, but I think anyone who reads my comment will understand what I mean by respect. I mean being treated the way you would want to be treated.

Precisely. My cousin is having a hard time accepting the fact....

As for the video, it's was nice...I guess. I just would've preferred to have seen a great range of voices from other letters of the LGBT+ community. This video seems to mostly focus on the strife between transwomen and gay.

At the end of the day, we all could do a little more listening to each other. We're not all going to agree or understand everything about each other, but none of that should stop us from supporting each other when the greater problems arise.

I got what you were saying. But there are people who really do think that they deserve more than 'just being treated the way you would treat others'-they want to be treated like royalty, with great deference and respect, and if they feel the slightest hint that they are not receiving perfect treatment they go off the rail. The 'you disrespected me' sh#t is out of control...to the point that a simple mistake like on the road, in a store, or even accidentally stepping on someone's shoe(even if accompanied by an apology) results in someone losing their sh#t. That is the stuff I am talking about. Many people seem to feel they are entitled to be treated way better than they would, or do, treat others.

One of the reasons you have to be so careful in public and in dealing with people out in the public-you never know what tiny thing can set someone off, and you don't know who some random individual is and what they may be capable of.

It is a bit of a tangent from the topic, but it plays into how gays treat eachother badly-because people in generally are treating eachother worse, IMO. That bitterness, hypocrisy, judgmentalism, etc. among 'the gays' is partly a reflection of how we have degraded as a society in general.

And I think that stuff among the gays is worse than it used to be. I don't know if it is because any fool can get online and get internet famous, social media, reality tv scum being idolized and emulated, people being able to put more of themselves 'out there' and becoming more narcissistic, the worsening conditions for the lower and middle classes, etc. but I think the plague of uncivil conduct and discourse among gays and society in general is worsening.

People used to talk about the 80's under Reagan being a 'harder and colder America' and all...and I think we are kind of in a similar situation-times now seem more angrier and bitter than they have in a long time IMO. Gays are not an exception-and the problems of being a minority(or double minority for the vast majority on here) can even make things worse. Again JMHO.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*tl;dr... People in general along with gays specifically are getting nastier and meaner.
