This is a long ass article but I grinned as it read it from beginning to end. No one has been able to encapsulate Bernie's disingenuousness in such a well written article as this author. It really explains why I feel such a strong dislike of Bernie and politicians like him. @Ockydub , @Nick Delmacy @ColumbusGuy @BrentForays please take a few minutes to read this. I'm interested to read what you all think.

What I think? When will liberal/progressive anti-republican gays realize this woman is a moderate greedy capitalistic republican politician?

As I go back to reading who got more accomplished when they both shared the same jobs...you know when they both were senators at the same time. Hint: it wasn't the one who was married to Bill. But hey don't let public record get in the way of crowing your queen.

But did you read the damn article? LOL You're doing to her exactly what Bernie does to anyone who doesn't agree with him. That's destructive to our democracy. Geesh.

The article I posted debunked your assertion that Bernie got lots of shyt done. He was a protest senator for the most part. He was unable to get any of his peers to rally around his legislation so how does anyone think he will bring the country together if everything has to be his way or no way?

You mean the article I responded to that was filled with misinformation and half truths to make her point for supporting Hillary (who I'm sure she supported the whole time) valid? Naw never heard or seen this viral article that Hillary supporters have been spreading all over the internet while not looking at this woman's obvious agenda driving commentary.

I'm sorry. Bernie has no agenda driven supporters behind him. I'm begging any Bernie supporter to list 5 tangible pieces of legislation that Bernie has introduced and had signed into law. Ok, 5 is a bit of a stretch so give me 3. I'll wait...

That is an ad hominem logical fallacy called 'argument against the man'(woman in this case)...and you are above logical fallacies are you not? So please read the article like I am going to and then comment on what the article says and not on whomever wrote it, ok? *love ya Ocky*

    * I would also be quite willing to read the info you are talking about, if you are willing to post it or direct me to it.

*ok new posts added...I am not sure if you read it or not now...so if you did nevermind.

Bernie has been an avowed socialist, but of course has never had an agenda. Just like Ocky does not have an agenda. (not that there is anything necessarily wrong with Ocky's agenda if he has one..love ya Ocky).

I could not get through it-the bias is there and it distracts from the article. Even if everything is true, it reads like an anti-Bernie tirade and the language that is used does not help. Sorry that is how I saw it. It was just off-putting because of the obvious bias-IMO the bias is reflected not necessarily in the facts or what is stated, but how it is stated with an obvious and very strong anti-Bernie bias and I just won't finish it.

The article does NOT read like a thoughtout journalistic piece-it reads like propaganda whether it actually is or not.

No the article you posted was an anti-Bernie article that was filled with slanted half truths to support your candidate.
If you (as you claim to be) were interested in facts and truth...support your candidate on her merits and leave it at that not made up shit about the other candidate you don't support. Its that easy.

    Here are some FACTS
Both he and Clinton only passed 3 bills in eight years. Nonetheless; From 1995 to 2007, Sanders passed 17 amendments by a recorded roll call vote — more than any other member in the House. In comparison, Hillary Clinton passed zero roll call amendments during her tenure as a senator from New York from 2001-09.
Bernie Sanders was the roll call amendment king from 1995 to 2007

Here are a few examples of the amendments Sanders passed:
Bernie Gets It Done: Sanders' Record of Pushing Through Major Reforms Will Surprise You

What the fuck was Hillary doing? Oh I know, getting paid for speeches, shifting money around, meeting with lobbyists and bankers, stealing money meant for Haiti through that bullshit Clinton foundation while padding her resume in hopes of becoming president. She is and has been a career status quo politician trying to get the ultimate title to feed her massive entitled ego.

I have problems with both democratic candidates. It is not about 'sides', it is about the way the article was written-I would have felt the same way about an article written that was pro-Bernie and anti-Hillary-it was written in a partisan way whether or not the facts included reflected that, and I find that offputting and non necessary, especially if the facts can speak for themselves.

I am on the side that is the anti-GOP side. Ocky feels very strongly about Hillary and I can see why, but I just do not have the same intensity of feeling regarding those issues(mainly the crime bill). Bernie is important in that he is putting pressure on the frontrunner(and likely nominee) and bringing up things(like the crime bill) that is causing her to make promises that she will have to keep-like undoing the damage her husband(and the other supporters or the bill at the time) made with the passing of the Crime Bill.

But.... I think there is a point where this inter-party attacking will hurt the party-I am not sure where that line is but I don't want us to cross it, and we need to be ready to support whomever the Dem nom is and if it is Hillary (they will make damn sure) that Bernie will get right behind her strongly and encourage his supporters to do the same, along with Obama, because they will see the big picture which is a flawed good vs an evil in whomever the GOP candidate is. They will line up and point out the evil and that is what people really need to fight against.

And if somehow Bernie pulls it off then the same thing applies. A united front against the GOP. There is a hell of a lot at stack including SCOTUS that is too important to fuck this up.

@RolandG What policies is Hillary Clinton proposing that u like better than Bernie's? Please don't say anything about her personality, her last name, her gender, or her relationship with Obama. What policies is she proposing that is making you vote for her?

@RolandG why didn't (feminist) Hillary call for raising the minimum wage or seeking equal pay for female Walmart workers when she was on the board at Walmart?

"And this is where I find Sanders to be the most hypocritical, dangerous, and downright hateful: he knows Clinton is a liberal, and very liberal at that. He knows she’s to his left on guns and women and LBGT and a range of issues. He knows the range of progressive achievements she had and helped secure, and he knows that she has developed a full range of progressive solutions in many more areas that he has and to a much more detailed and targeted degree than he himself has."

Bros means plural... I'm the only outspoken Bernie supporter here. Support your candidate and leave the lying to her. You don't need to be bias or spread half truths about Bernie to show your support for Hillary. Your candidate is winning...act like it.

    wait a minute! *checks watch*

Why wasn't I invited to this? I guess I already said everything that I needed to say last week. *shrugs*

There's nothing wrong with centrism. I'd like to think that I'm center-left. And centrism is not "republican lite". But then again, I shouldn't be surprised by this since any deviation from concrete ideology is seen as illegitimate by a lot of people. Hell, the Bill Maher/MSNBC-cool-kids axis have been accusing Brother B of being a republican for his entire presidency. So, whatevs.

I'm a Bernie supporter. I couldn't get past reading the first two paragraphs after I scrolled down to see how long that shit was. Yep, that's problem with the electorate, and even informed brothas like myself who work in politics...we ain't got time for all that. You can go through every policy, every vote taken or introduced, and at the end of the day, most of it doesn't matter. What have you done for me lately and what can you do for me now? THat's what voters generally want to know and they want to know it in a nicely packaged messaged. Why? We can't possibly read through every piece of legislation, every speech, to make decisions.

That said, people base who they decide to vote for on whatever philosophical or political rational that fits with what they are feeling either at the time and just generally. For me, this election is foremost about shaking up the system and the status quo. The country would be fucked up for four years with a Donald Trump presidency and I will never vote for him, but I wouldn't be mad at a Trump presidency because it represents a shake up in the status quo.

Bernie is no more or less capable or being president than HRC. Bernie has been criticized for staging protests and taking philosophical positions and not being effective. He's only represented his state's views in the legislature for the last several decades, in both chambers in the US Capitol. He's seems to be quite effective for Vermont if they keep electing him. And it seems that a good bit of the Democratic party share those "Vermont-views," so to speak, and feel that this governing philosophy could be effective for the country.

THat said, I believe Bernie's general views and philosophy on government align with mine, more than HRC. Furthermore, I recognize him as a credible enough candidate to support and shake-up in the system/status quo.

Without going into policy points, who has more experience, who lying, etc. I've worked in government, and know all that shit doesn't matter all the time. Those that are most effective leaders in government see themselves as grateful stewards of government, acting in the best interests and general goodwill of the people. Put like that, I don't see anyone else's rhetoric or record--overall--in that light except Bernie's.

So did I. Just goes to show instead of a presidential election, it's essentially a popularity contest.

TL;DR but Bernie is a huckster. I think he passionately believes in what he believes but he is a typical politician in a lot of ways. As part of the DSCS he raised corporate funds all the time for Senate Democrats. $15 an hour is all he's take and nothing less but two years ago he was cool with $10.10. In 2006 he took money from Hillary Clinton's PAC. Niggas treat him like Mother Theresa

The problem with this thread is that in many ways those on the left are splitting hairs when it come to either of the democrat candidates in comparison to the Republican alternatives. Outside of the bank/economic questions, the democratic candidates are closely aligned on platform issues. abortion, equality and fairness rights, social securities and generally the role of government (although, Sanders seems to want a lot more government). I am always surprised at both sides of this liberal vs progressive debate. Let me attempt to breakdown my thoughts:

On the Liberal side, you have a woman who is a former first lady, senator, and secretary of state. On the Progressive side you have a former congressman and sitting senator that has been in washington for 35 years. In my understanding that makes BOTH of them ESTABLISHMENT. You cannot be party to an institution for the length of time and not be considered anything other than that.

Clinton supporters cite that Clinton herself has been attacked for nearly 25 years by the GOP and a great deal of their attacks against her are not rooted in a factual basis. That causes her to be distrustful. She is a pro-market capitalist.

Sanders supporters cite that he is the real deal, he has been saying the same thing for 35 years. That is also his vice as well. How can you scream and shout the same thing for 35 years and basically have nothing to show for it? Democratic Socialism doesn't seem to be gaining attraction. How many other democratic socialist are there in Congress?

At the end of the day, Bernie and Hillary are in extreme contrast with the likes of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz <---who is creepy AF btw. The fighting on the left at this point is tiresome because both sides fail to realize how much they indeed have in common and only focus on the points of greatest division.

I am living in France, where there are REAL differences in political party, they actually have a socialist party, and nationalist party, and liberal party, and conservative party and a green party. The fights these people have here are because they actually have clear ideological differences in ideas. The students and civic groups I talk to often ask me what the difference is between the democrats and republicans because people around the world don't understand that the difference between the D and R are 10 issue items, (1)the role of government, (2) economic theory, (3) Abortion, (4) Foreign Policy posture, (5) Ideas about Liberty, (6) the status of women, (7) Guns, (8) Levels of fearfulness, (9) Religious affinity, (10) Levels of rationalism.

Think about that for a second. 10 issues separate the Ds and Rs. In other countries its compete ideas that separate party.

I don't necessarily agree with the 10 issues-I think there is more to it than that. But otherwise a good post and I agree with much of it, especially this : "At the end of the day, Bernie and Hillary are in extreme contrast with the likes of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz <---who is creepy AF btw. " Trump is unstable and nuts and Cruz is just evil.
