    I'm too much of a punk to check it out myself, but I've been doing some surface net research on it via Google and YouTube. Shit is scary. I'm already uncomfortable and I haven't even checked it out myself.

    Has anyone else checked it out? What did you do? What did you think?

    If you really want to be freaked about it read Thomas Pynchon's latest novel Bleeding Edge. He gives the dark web the usual paranoid, spiraling Pynchon treatment. For the first quarter of the book I needed to keep Google open to figure out what the dark web was.

    Humans are peculiar and you'd definitely find that on the dark web but I have seen videos of things on the regular internet that I was like "OMG!" So I pretty much can imagine what the dark web consists of and not really interested in it. Weird, odd, nasty, grotesque... I'm already desensitized to so much as it is. I don't need to add on to it.

    The Deep web pretty much has the lowest and most depraved aspects of human existence. So I guess you can say both. I don't want to encounter either. I'll stick to surface level discussions of it.

    Speaking of which, there's a documentary series on Showtime called the Dark Net. It doesn't deal exclusively with the dark web, but it does have some interesting albeit uncomfortable and depraved stories about it. Came across the series as I was doing more online research.

    Well, in that case, the nastiest I've seen is 2 Girls, 1 Cup. That was enough for me... But as for disturbing, I've seen a suicide or 2 because late night me got curious after watching a youtube video about live television deaths. And yeah, the suicide was shown on youtube, so you really don't have to travel that far into the web to see something crazy.

    for those of you who are adventurous, there is a browser that was specifically designed for the deep web(including the dark web) called TOR. https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en be advised that using the browser MIGHT BE ILLEGAL in some states(even though downloading it, is perfectly legal)

    I was going to write a paper for my philosophy of technology class on the deep web/dark web but changed my mind at the last minute. Personally I think like everything else people give it way to much power if the internet didn't exist society would still have something similar
