Can You Throw Down in the Kitchen? Should Your Man Be Able To?

Not me haah smh lol.

I enjoy eating good food but don't like to cook. I can cook simple stuff for myself. Hell once I even cooked a full thanksgiving for myself and friends marinated Turkey and all.

But ideally my significant other......
Bea would do all the cooking and I just eat haah lol.

A) Yes, I can! Feeding him breakfast in bed has become my weekend routine...


B) Naah, he doesn’t have to cook, but if you want him to eat right without being a nag, your gotta take matters into your own hands.

 

I lived a true bachelor lifestyle for the past few years before I met my current partner. I ate out all the time and only purchased ready made meals. But now I met a dude who can cook and he doesn't mind making us fresh meals. He's been slowly teaching me though and now I can cook a little something. He still does the brunt of the cooking (bad habits are hard to shake) but I make it a goal to make us dinner at least once a week. We haven't been out to eat in a long time! It saves so much money and it's a cool activity to do. We'll look at those YouTube videos like Tasty and wonder if we can start incorporating some of the recipes. I like it.

 

Similar story me for me. I was living with my parents up until last year before I moved in with my partner and little to no culinary experience besides the basics and breakfast lol. My mom never made me try cooking growing up and I never aspired to do so until I left the nest. In the beginning it used to be my partner doing most of the cooking but at a certain point I started experimenting and trying new recipes and types of meals. Ive been trying to add at least two new recipes to my repertoire each month. It’s built up quite quickly! Pretty soon I will have eclipsed him.

 

Lol that’s how I learned to cook. My mother said, if you don’t like what I cook, you can go out and buy your OWN food. So, at age 12, called her bluff and got a newspaper route. Been grilling ever since!

 

I gets down in the kitchen. I'de like to eventually have a dude that can cook as well, because I'm not cooking all the fkn time and Im damn sho' not teachin' no grown ass man how to cook. Cookin (IMO) is like a big dick, if you aint got it by the time you 25yo, you ain't never gonna get it.

 

Fuk cooking! This couple needs to be making sex tapes at all times.

 

I can cook. While it'd be nice if my dude could too, it's not exactly a high requirement (esp considering how ADD these mofos are, but that's a different convo...)

That said, I wouldn't want any dude thinking it's about to be 3 hots and a cot round my house. With youtube and all of the cooking resources available today, there's no excuse for a dude to not be able to at least contribute, even if he isn't the head chef.

 

Honestly wouldnt have a problem cooking since im a picky eater it keeps things cool and calm if i know im not about to eat some salty rendition of a mystery dish that happens when a person whos used to ordering pizza making hotdogs tries to cook

 

So I just had my cousin stay with me for 4 weeks and I really enjoyed cooking for him and also having someone enjoy my cooking. I was not interested in cooking but my mom's sisters(six of them) ALWAYS used to drag me into the kitchen, away from my other siblings watching cartoons, and make me sit with them and hold the ingredients until the food was ready. Fast forward now, I love cooking and I am even thinking of going for a three months culinary arts school course, hopefully before September.

As much as I would love to cook for my dude, I also want him to be able to cook for me. To take the time to get the ingredients from the farmers market, prep and cook them. Not just once but to make it a regular thing, would also be wonderful if he can bake and make Sea food based meals.


I seriously doubt such dude exist or if he does he is no way interested in me.

 

He's out there =) At least that's what I tell myself LOL.

 

I love cooking and I think it is definitely essential for a kat to know how to cook. Somethin sexy about a dude feeding you in general

 

You ain't lying! It's sexy af. Personally, I have the goal of learning how to cook and I mean throw down in the kitchen!! But then I'll get in the kitchen and be afraid to do anything lol. I feel like I'll take a culinary course sometime in the next two years and learn then, but cooking is definitely a skill that attracts!

 

Grew up with a busy single mom so my sister and I were self sufficient from an early age. We were cooking full meals in our teens.

I don't mind dating someone who doesn't know how to cook although I think it's a necessary life skill. I do think it's weird when adults brag about not knowing how to cook.
