Okay, @Ockydub left me hanging with no Throwback this Thursday. So, I'll start this one out just for shits and giggles: favorite tv show theme songs from childhood. Starting with the best kids cartoon theme from the Soul Train era (sorry, Fat Albert it ain't you):

In honor of @BlackguyExecutive 's new culinary adventure, something he can whip up a soufflé to. I barely knew what they saying as a kid, but it was so trippy I always loved the opening

The late Morrie Turner was the first nationally syndicated black comic strip artist.

Even though his strip, Wee Pals, was never as big as Garfield or Peanuts, I always dug the brief animated version that appeared on ABC Sunday mornings as a preschooler

Send me to the video store or Netflix and post your own!

This is still a feel good song for me.

And this one was just too good.Istill listen to Tevin singing this today.

People get stuck on the MMPR theme, but nothing gets me hype like the song in the promoor the ZEO theme. The chorus, the composition,it all gives off a more empowering feel than the MMPR theme did.

Ron Wasserman, who made the PR music,Xmen, and Dragonball Z,is one of my favorite musicians. He recorded all tracks in these songs by himself.

Another that wasn't a theme song, but it was on the soundtrack. It was used for action sequences a lot.

@DreG I knew you'd be good for some gems. I forget just how expansive Disneys reach has been in the last 20 years.

You guys took almost all the good ones,

Also, I know it's not a theme song per se, nor a cartoon, but it's a throwback, from a movie, from the Soul Train Era LOL This is one of my favorite parts from this movie....

@DreG Forgot about Carmen Sandiego. I used to use that software to tutor kids. By the time my oldest nephew came along, it was a franchise lol But yeah I liked that theme, anything a capella like Take 6, etc.

@ColumbusGuy I was thinking more TV show intros, but yeah Schoolhouse Rock was a weekend morning staple. I remember when I took a Constitutional Law class at OSU. One kid was asked to read the preamble and after a few words, the whole class chimed in and started singing, "in ORDER to FORM a more PERFECT UNIONNNNNNN. Provide for the COMMON DEFENSE..." The professor was visibly perplexed and thought he was being pranked. He didn't know a whole generation of Gen-Xers grew up thinking Thomas Jefferson was a lyricist and songwriter....

Thank god for YouTube, I can reference old ass shit and not seem crazy anymore. Like back in the day when I told some friends, hey, you remember there was this cartoon with a bear in an Afro that rode an invisible motorcycle and he looked like a gay West Coast hairdresser? Gas faces all around...

Damn, I don't even remember that chain. You took my brain to some old Burger Chef and Jeff territory lol. That reminded me of this kid game show that tried to ride the first High Tech wave. Not gonna lie, it did catch my interest and got me to start programming at an early age.
