Just got back from the lab practicing anesthesia and I stumbled upon this short video on VLAD TV YouTube Channel where a porn star in the straight world, Nyomi Bankxxx, talks about gay men in the industry not ever being tested for HIV. She talks about a time where she did a straight porn scene with a man she later discovered was bisexual. Watch from the 4:40 mark to see what her reaction was (video is just about 8 minutes in length).

Tell me your thoughts about her opinion about how things may or may not run in the gay porn industry below!

I feel that with the porn industry in general people need to protect themselves and to be honest i hate when someone keeps saying the "lifestyle" when the topic of discussion is homosexuality.

At this point, HIV/AIDS (and the spread of it) affects everyone. And though the CDC statistically states that HIV and AIDS rates are higher amongst men who are sexually and physically attracted to the same gender (gay and bisexual), the stigma that goes along with those numbers has got to stop. It's 2015 and regardless of gender and sexuality, you MUST be mindful of your sexual activities and making sure you are practicing safe sex. As much as you see bareback sex scenes in straight porn (primarily), I would be worried about someone doing porn on the straight side trying to knock me off than gay porn. She caught an STD from one of the guys (apparently straight) doing straight porn and didn't even question him or react to it, but shunned and dismissed the guy who did gay porn and straight porn as well (either being bisexual or straight-"gay for pay") as if it was confirmed that he has HIV/AIDS or another STD...smh. I can guarantee you that even if she wasn't in the industry at that time or even now, she would have reacted and will still do the same thing just because of the fact that of having had sex with someone of the same gender, even if the guy was/would be bisexual. That goes to show you the double standard of a man being gay or bisexual vs. a woman being gay or bisexual and the notion of only being a man (and the definition of it), if you are straight.

I can say that on the gay side, unless it's bareback porn, the obvious transmission is fairly low that someone who did gay porn or is doing gay porn will transmit the disease, because condom usage is in the majority of gay porn done. From the mouths of a handful of former porn performers who did straight and/or gay porn and have come out having been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, you can't look at the spread of HIV/AIDS in the adult entertainment industry just from one side of the room.
