Every relationship is different. While I have never been married, my parents have been married for 60 years and from my ringside seat, a successful marriage takes work. No matter how strong the love and physical attraction, those things alone won't carry you through.

Sounds like he was just not happy and neither of them communicated what they needed to make things better.
I don't think any of us want to die alone.
I think people have unreal expectations when it comes to aging and growing older.
I think many people have kids too soon into their marriages/relationships. I think people should take the time to enjoy just being a couple. People get married then they (she) want a baby 1 year later then wonder why they don't have time or money to do stuff.
This guy probably should have gotten counseling a long time ago but I think it's too late for him now.acessential, Winston Smith, I-Stay-Woke and 2 others dapped this. -

This is true if deep down, you never wanted marriage or kids in the first place. Society pushes these two things as the epitome of success in life. They shouldn't be idealized and people shouldn't get married or have kids simply because it's expected of them. We need to change the culture so people don't enter into unhappy marriages or have kids that they resent. It's not healthy for anybody.
