Winner of the 2014 Best of NEXT Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, Imperial Dreams stars John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Attack The Block) as a reformed gang member who tries to protect his family and future in Watts, California.
The film also stars handsome actor and recording artist, Rotimi, who most recently guest starred alongside Omari Hardwick and 50 Cent in Power.
The producers of the film are currently seeking distribution, so no release date set yet.

From watching him as Finn I was thinking he'd be strictly into comedic roles from seeing this like his timing and skill at physical comedy, but now this has me thinking he might be one of those actors like John Lithgow who can sell any extreme.
what's going on there John. :whoo::troll:

Perhaps I need to elaborate.
The glasses were being lowered to take a look at that screencap. The reasons to love J.B. piling up in light of this newly introduced exhibit.
Good to see John in a Black film right after Star Wars. Looks aight. As for the film, feels like I've seen this story before. Ready for some fresh voices/ perspectives from Black writers/ directors. But I'll give it a shot nonetheless. I met Rotimi last year at a Man Code event thrown by The Root. He's a very down to earth dude. Congrats to both of them.
