Occasionally we find music videos that we feel the urge to share with fellow weirdos like ourselves. So now that we a platform to do just that, expect to see a (semi) daily dose of under-the-radar music to add to your iTunes library.Today introduce yourselves to R&B singer Shemar Forte. While he still has a lot of growth left as an artist, its refreshing to see a new face stepping into the independent music scene. From what I’ve seen, he’s got a strong hustle game and has been grinding hard to reach his dreams. This music video for the song Showdown demonstrates that further by showing Shemar and a young woman training in the gym to prepare for their “showdown”, an analogy for battling through relationship struggles.

Pretty good singer and video. He probably did this video with no budget and it still came out very good and was quality work. Other artists who are independent like Mac Miller and Dawn Richard (formerly of the R&B/Pop supergroup, Danity Kane) still do quality work as well. I can’t think of anyone he reminds me of in the world of R&B/Soul today. He has a pretty laid-back vocal.
Sidenote: It is good to see some R&B on this site! Keep it coming! One other artist I really think you guys (Nick & Ocky) will like is an artist by the name of Noel Gourdin. He has been trying to get mainstream attention since 2006 (possibly even earlier) and he is an amazing R&B singer. VH1 played one of his songs during one of the reality shows that aired and during a commercial break… so amazing!
That fact that this brotha is not mainstream is proof that god does not exist! Instead, we have to put up with Ike Turner Jr. (aka Chris Brown), and countless other falsettos using auto tune and other studio tricks to compose a shitty album.
The lyrics to this joint is motivating and inspirational. And the guy can actually sing.
……and he’s phine too :-))
^^^^^^^^^^^^Agreed^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^..twas a well made video & he got some smooth vocals.
