A Message To Gay Christians Who Oppose Christian “Hate Speech”

By OckyDub | Posted Jan 5 2017 | 21 Comments

untitledIn this podcast Ocky Williams give his commentary on Gay Christians and their hurt feelings whenever the topic of the “sinfulness of homosexuality” is brought up in pulpits, they cry ‘Hate Speech’. They may not have chosen their sexuality but they choose to be Christians.

Romans 1:27
Likewise, the men abandoned natural relations with women and burned with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Leviticus 18:22
And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

These scriptures are considered by most progressive, liberal, leftist thinking people as “hate speech”. As a person who is on the left or “liberal” when it comes to many social issues, I don’t consider it hate speech.

These are verses from Holy Scripture and that’s exactly how I look at it. I’ve heard these verses accompanied by sermons throughout my whole life.

Now if you do believe this is hate speech, this hate speech has a direct clear source…The Bible.

It's a dead topic on this site, as people are in whatever camps they are in. Those in DL church denial aren't leaving, and those of us with the EVOLVE Darwin fish t-shirts aren't entering.

It's a GREAT podcast for YouTube posting, as someone struggling out there and looking for perspectives on the topic will discover a new viewpoint via Ock.

*DEEP SIGH* @Ocky you only have one job to do. Stand there, look muscular, and be trade. That’s all we require you to do.

1st) Why are you always against me?
2nd) Do you have any actual comments on the subject at hand?
    3rd) Who is "we"?

yoo there is so much truth to this. I understand totally where Kim Burell is coming from she is simply speaking the word. So i dont get when christian people especially gay people who are christian hit out against her. All though i believe all Christians are forced to be hypocrites because of the flawed nature of the bible making it un-follow-able. It is so strict you are committing sin by doing the simplest of mundane things like that mixed linen shit.

Worst churches here in Jamaica don’t have the pressures to conform to a “likeable ” public image. Meaning churches practically rule everything here. So burning the gays (figure of speech) and hating the sin is a cerebrated topic. So growing up gay in a situation like that is tantamount to child abuse to me. But still people do it here and some even follow it into their adulthood hating themselves until the end of days.

Blk ppl are just victims of 'group think'. U got 5 kids n 10 baby daddies, never been married, n stole from ur cash drawer back when u had a job, but u wana buck up when it comes to 'them gays'?! Fuk outa here!

Blk ppl love to compete in the 'Oppression Olympics'. Blk heteros are just thirstier to win, so they compete in every lane eligible.

N fuk Kim Burrell! (Yes, she is still a vocal beast, but fuk that cult victim bytch)

There’s room for interpretation when it comes to the Bible, which is why so many different Christian sects and denominations exist. All Christians do not subscribe to the same beliefs and value systems. For example, the Catholics pray to saints and the Virgin Mary & the Baptists pray to God through his son Jesus. Another example of extreme Christian differences is a very prominent and well known Christian Bishop named Carlson Pearson, who broke away from the “gays are going to hell” rhetoric and started preaching the Gospel of Inclusion, based on his interpretation of the word. So, I’m not at all surprised that some Christians have attacked Kim Burrell for that sermon of hers or that a LOT of gay people are still choosing to be Christian. Additionally, it’s pretty customary for Christians to use the Bible to attack other Christians and anyone else that they may disagree with; as everyone feels that their interpretation is right and everyone else’s is wrong.

I'm against you because I disagree and would prefer you to just simply look muscular and attractive and saying trade like things on occasion. But you won't…and your defiance is attractive in a trade way. Good day sir!

Well, Imma be honest. I’m STILL gonna like Kim Burrell. I’m still gonna listen to her music and enjoy every vocal run she does. Now the whole cancellation of the apperance on the Ellen show was understandable because Ellen is gay herself. The cancellation of her radio talk show at a HBCU was kinda a head twister but I let that one go. The cancellation of her being at GOSPEL FEST though! I had a problem with that, because I thought that the gospel industry, being that they SHOULD be Christians first (and know the Lawd {in my uncle’s country voice}), I thought that they would feel the same way Kim does. She was the only one speaking of it out loudly. There are people in my family who don’t like the fact that I’m gay but still loves me and treat me with respect, and the feelings are mutual (they got one time to fuck up though). That’s all. I know I’ve talked too much.

Every scripture cited above simply protects one from harm physically ,emotionally, energetically. No “hate” in that. It’s actually loving forewarning. Bad experiences aren’t always the best teachers. It’s better to heed the warnings.

No sin in “love” , just the sex.

No tore up booty holes. Or penises that vacuumed waste. No hurt feelings and hearts. No restrictive condom use. No being jaded and emotionally unavailable after you’ve been through it or afraid to go through it. No STD’s. No addiction to orgasm getting habituated then constantly wanting something new , be it yet another hook up or cyber image.

Where’s the hate in the guidance?

  14. D | January 15th, 2017

Kim Burrell’s delivery was very flawed. Simple as that. The God she claims to serve would never have that tone as a spiritual leader. But that has nothing to do with the Bible’s message.
Try doing ANYTHING the Bible says not to do and see how much real peace of mind you maintain. Just keeping it real. The very fact that you BETTER have a condom on when you KNOW you want it raw, (condoms are unnatural) tells you your mind is not completely at ease with what’s about to go down.

Seriously, being conscious is the road to less stress and drama and the Bible can and does guide the man that doesn’t know his left from his right. Many can attest to this. We have free will ,yes. But how well is moral relativity really working?

    Look around us….

Everyone has their OWN rules . Or their Truth as many call it. Yet we all clamor in the cause of order and harmony. Lol… it simply does not work that way.

    I completely agree.

God would have said, "fuck tone, imma drown these fuckas in a great flood or burn them to the ground or turn them into salt", you know because he's a loving and forgiving God.

Actually this is what He says…

He is guarding the lives of his loyal ones; he rescues them from the hand of the wicked.—Ps. 97:10

The scriptures cited above were to protect individuals and a nation from harm. To be honest he would putting people out of their misery sooner than later. Literally like pulling the plug on someone “unconscious ” in a coma. End the suffering to the individual on multiple levels and not have it “cost” the rest of the family.

There is really no debate with this. I’m trying figure out why some want to make the Bible Enemy of he State when on close inspection NONE of the do’s and don’ts hurt you. It may be simply something one does not want to comply to. And that’s cool with God. He is just letting you know how the universe is undeniably set up. Anything that doesn’t serve its purpose is eventually eliminated.

9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

There are many who progressively call themselves “spiritual ” but not “religious ” perse. And they understand the concept of “walking dead” aka living in the lower self. At the time Leviticus was LAW God could not afford his people having diseases spread throughput the camp and who only knows what other societal ills,ie incest, molestation (because we all know many men tend to like them young and impressionable,,,sigh) . He couldn’t play around with that. A mission had to be accomplished. So the law nipped it in the bud. The offenders put to REST. They’ll get another trial run at it in the future.

Preventive measure is LOVE ,not hate.

Romans on the other hands is just plain physics. A warning about the plethora of physical, emotional, and energetic consequences of certain actions. It’s really indisputable.

Like an above poster said. It’s a dead topic. A merely a choice to do or not to do. No need to Bible bash. Or bash those that believe in it and struggle (naturally) to adjust to its standards. No one said it would be easy in this world. But a good fight can save you much misery .
True. Hypocrites and haters need to be quiet. Jesus said that himself.

Let’s not turn things around to make loving admonition look like hate. When we can just say I don’t want to comply to that. I’m not in that space ….yet..and I may never will be.
      It’s a choice.

  16. D | January 16th, 2017

The Bible in short is a book that transcends time that guides one into raising their vibration,to put it in current understanding.
Things are “heating up” on all levels. Trump era.,,,

Navigating through the times will require an uncommon skill set not promoted by design , that many,,,not most ,are waking up to. You have to be able to “see” with another eye to either connect well and/ or protect yourself.
What you “feed” on visually, audibly and diet matters. What you know. As well as if it’s true. And who you connect with matters.
    Black brothers take heed.

I believe when it comes to Christianity, it really depends on the person's individual relationship with god. I consider myself to be a christian and believe in God, not because my parents raised me within the church but because of my own supernatural experiences with god, which lead me to believe he is real.

We all know that Martin Luther wanted the bible to be public access to the church and the church officials did not want that because of fear of multiple interpretations which we currently have now. I mean, I strongly believe that when judgment day comes god judges from your heart and not exactly from what you do, because he knows people will sin everyday no matter what. (and it says this somewhere in the bible too), That's why it says when someone has sinned in their heart, its the same as committing the actual sin.

I incorporate God in my everyday life, including relationships and dating, and to be honest, it would be hard for me to date a guy who doesn't believe in God the way I do. And I understand many gay people's hesitations towards the church and the bible, but I wish they could experience the positive aspects of it, as I have. And they also need to remember people can take anything and twist it anyway they want to. In fact we all know the bible talks about this "alleged hell fire" in so many passages, but the Jehovah Witnesses don't believe there is a hell. Everybody thinks they're right, that's why with so much different information out there one contradicting another, I believe the relationship we have with god as individuals regarding our intuition and experience of him will be the most important.

I'm just here to watch the gay Christians twist themselves knots trying to explain why Christianity doesn't promote homo-antagonistic ideas.

Religion/Spirituality is like any other group. Surround yourself with people that are going to lift you and make you a better person. A major dilemma in the black culture is that Christianity = anti gay in which is false. I am part of a Methodist church that doesn’t believe it is sinful to be with the same sex and me and partner are both involved heavily within the church. Even before I was part of a non denominational church that had the same ideals and principles. Having this family allowed me to be confident in ministry and grow into a better believer. That brings me to my closing argument. If you are trying to go to school and gain knowledge you wouldn’t converse and befriend groups that ridicule, abuse, and manipulate you into thinking the way you live your life is wrong, so the same applies to being same-sex loving. Find a church or support group that will help you and bring spiritual aid to your life to be closer to Him.

but in order to get to this reasoning wouldnt you have to cherry pick from the bible what you wan to believe in…? Which in itself unrealistic. I mean I guess one can argue that becoming more at peace is a good thing, which i am not knocking. But it seems like one is just turning their back to the things they dont like and pretending like they dont exist.
