You can call him Donald Glover. You can call him Childish Gambino. And you can definitely call him Weirdo.
Whatever you call him, it all equates to talent and we here at Cypher Avenue will be forever hyped to see/hear the work he puts out there.
In addition to new music, the actor-turned-musician is also working on a television pilot for FX called Atlanta about the indie music scene in our lovely city.
Glover will star “as one half of the central duo: two cousins, with wildly different takes on life, navigating the Atlanta rap scene. Glover plays Earnest “Earn” Marks, a college drop-out who taps into his own musical aspirations when his estranged family member finds sudden fame.”
Sounds much more interesting and much better than Lee Daniel’s EMPIRE already.
In the meantime, Gambino has released these insane visuals for his cut “Sober.” If this is an indication for the outside-the-box creativity we can expect from the television series, I’m in.

Love THIS. Even though I can’t stand when rappers sing, I’m actually cool with this song.
I like it. I don’t know him as a rapper so…this video and the singing are kool wit me. I’m not a fan of Hip Hop anymore, shit suks and I don’t listen to it.
Can’t help but wonder if he actually was high in this video
This was interesting, in a creepy way. Why the Empire shade, though? Can one enjoy them both. And Gambino did look a little “too real” in the clip, though…LOL
LOL Yes, @Nick your slip is definitely showing with the off-handed Empire shade #letitgo
CG is a triple threat (actor, rapper, comedian) but what I am not here for is his Frank Oceanian vocals. Maybe something in the studio to add some flavor to a hip-hop n B rap track, but the stand and deliver on Jimmy Kimmel I saw?……….

LOVE this song. It has an 80’s feel but still sounds modern. My brother had me listen to it in his car and I fell in love with it ever since. Childish Gambino is a musical genius.
