Kendrick Lamar is here to stay.
Fresh off of his “patriotic” BET Awards performance that opened the show and caused Fox News to lose their shit, Kendrick releases the second music video from his epic (and revolutionary) To Pimp A Butterfly album, “Alright.”
Directed by Collin Tilley, Alright features striking visuals of Kendrick Lamar flying through the streets, high above trigger happy police officers. Far from exploitation, the video, song and even Lamar’s entire album artistically speaks to the struggle of being a black man in America.
Say what you will about the turn-up value of To Pimp A Butterfly, this is nonetheless proving to be an album and artist whose message will historically transcend merely being a Shmurder celebrating “Hot Nigga.”
