My face wrinkles as I watch the video. My eyes squint. What did he just say? HUH? What the fuck is going on? I’m confused.
Can I figure out why?
Okay…so if these young boys were rapping about having sex and oral sex with girls would I have an issue? Yes, but this catches me off guard because this is new uncharted territory. Young boys explicitly rapping about sucking dick…with pride and bravado!
HUH?
What is captivating about this vider is that seemingly all the young boys are masculine in appearance, most likely street savvy and are very vocal and proud about their fascination with sucking dick. So much so that they freestyle about it or at least remember some past written rhyme. Nothing about them says stereotypically gay. This is a good thing right?
It is almost as if they don’t know what they are rapping about but just repeating some strange lyric from an old “Lil Kim” song. However at the end the of the rap…comes the hook, “We Started From the Dick Now We Here”!
I have heard tales from men my age (mid thirties) of kats they went to high school with who were all engaging in group homosexual activities behind closed doors at sleep-overs and after school. So for me it is not farfetched to ponder if these young boys have or are sexually experimenting with each other. I feel happy the tide is changing and that homosexuality or sexuality in general in the black community is becoming less taboo. It’s nothing wrong with being true to oneself and walking in your truth, regardless of your age.
Maybe this is not a big deal. I definitely knew at 14 or 15 yrs of age that I had an attraction to boys my age and the men in the porn movies I was viewing. So I get it…but this shit here!?
Am I making a big deal out of this? I hope there is someone in these young boys’ lives who not only can guide and inform them about sex (and its consequences) but also advise them that it is not a good idea to expose yourself in this sexually explicit manner OR is it okay? Hell regular straight rappers do it all the time so why can’t they? Of course the hook from these young lads song is taken from the Drake song “Started from the bottom”, so you see the inspiration.
A part of me feels this video is some sort of parody or made as a joke or maybe it’s just my wishful thinking. Hell, maybe Frank Ocean will sign them to his label. I view myself as a very open and liberated when it comes to sexuality but why is this unsettling to me and why do I feel a hint of sadness? Am I out of touch or too old fashioned?
Tell me how do you feel after watching this video?

I was more concerned with the the age of the dudes than the content of the raps. Like you said, if these boys were rapping about eating pussy, it would not get anywhere near the same attention that it is now.
I also don’t even think this video is serious. I think the boys just decided to be young and stupid and rap about a topic as a joke. Teenage boys of all sexual orientations do shit like this,it doesn’t mean that it’s serious.
Okay, so i actually use to freestyle with my friends(who are straight) in high school, just for fun of course, no one was trying to be a big rapper. But a lot of the times the freestyle were gay but it was mostly to be funny and we recorded them all the time. I think they boys in the video definitely did it for fun and thats y i think they are so comfortable rapping about because whenever my friends and i would freestyle i would rap on a gay topic because it would just feel uncomfortable and awkward.
I’m more concerned that young boys are rapping about sucking dick THAT explicitly. I’m 30 and I don’t even talk about it like that with my friends lol. If they were that young and talking about having feelings for boys or taylor swift-esque type of language it would be fine by me. I guess I’m old.
I think they just did it for shock value, I would not take it too serious. But if I had a child, I definitely wouldn’t allow them to rap about content like this. Whether the were straight or gay.
O_o
…this is baaaad…this article shoulda been in the “This Happened In The World” category, but that’s just my opinion. It’s unfortunately gettin worse out here tho, no doubt.
They rapped about sucking dick like it was a badge of honor, do they actually suck dick I don’t think so but it is a call for alarm. This is the result of parents not talking to their kids about sex. I fear for these kids because it’ll get back to people they know and some of them may not see it a joke, hoping that it was a joke.
HOLD UP!
I’m lost at the comments here. More shocked with the surprise of viewers than the video itself.
Seriously. I’m looking to right of this screen seeing FOUR pictures of JASON COLLINS portrayed as some “hero”.
I don’t get the disconnect ?
Isn’t this what many have been dreaming of supposedly.?
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR is all I can say. You never know the cost of certain things.
We can’t have it both ways. Not buying into a universal set of morals for everyone .YET questioning someones “morals” or lack thereof when it’s offensive or shocking to you.
Which is it ?… Either anyone can do whatever they want and no one dare to “judge”. Or maybe there should be a universal standard for everyone.
It’s been said , “Everyone can’t have freedom and be equal. Nor than there can complete equality and everyone be free.”
I’m not at all shocked by this video.I’m more pissed with the anti-gay, homophobia promoting War Star Hiphop site than the material in this video. Like Ocky said, “if they were rapping about eating pussy” this video would be in the black hole of obscurity.
As for the boys themselves, I see them as regular kids being edgy or intending to invoke shock. Honestly, I didn’t even think about what their actual sexual orientations might be, and truthfully, I don’t care.
So each generation “pushes the envelope “. Right off the table……
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone deliberately “conditioned” these boys to do this. Some prison thugs. These kats are young. Social media and video is all they know. And yet NO ONE. Was there to tell them that this might not be a good idea in respect to their future long term.
If it “ok” to invoke shock sexually ,why not violently? It happens all the time because it gives the same adrenaline rush. Who Is going to “police” this?…. Oh yea,did I forget? They already are “conditioning” for that with the POLICE STATE themed music nearly every Illuminati sponsored artist has out.
Ok. So we don’t have to “care” about what someone else’s kids do. But I hope some of us have sense to teach our own to do better. But that’s probably not much of an issue for this board right?
So the “apathy” continues. Smh
@ TLK
I don’t disagree with much of what your trying to convey, but that speech should probably be read by the average person who visits WarStar Hiphop and Bossip. ‘There” sir is where you’ll find “apathy” by aloof absentee fathers and angry Black females. “There” is where you’ll find a passive acceptance of anti social behavior and thug’esque glorification. As I said, I don’t disagree with you, but the cost of giving a damn about someone else’s children is not a price Black Pegasus cares to pay.
This “trend” isn’t new…I’ve seen videos like this on black message boards before with homophobes going in with F****t bombs…Ocky and I had a convo just the other day about teenagers and sexuality…I’d rather have kids rapping about sex than violence…sex is natural…we were born to do it (biologically speaking). Violence on the other hand…
Attention seekers….
And where do these kids go from here besides displaying their “verbalized ” skills on the likes of Dawg Pound Usa or Breed It Raw? They are marked and marginalized for LIFE with this. And it’s sad. Ill bet anything someone older than them sponsored this.
These boys get points….
1. They are “masculine”
2. And they are not doing porn (yet) because they are too young
Now what? Smh
Maybe with all the “intelligence” here hiding behind the web we can come up with something to save these young brothers from their fate.
This is a gay website catering to black men – who SUCK DICK – and we do a whole lot of other THINGS sexually, and we are crying because the kids, young black boys, ARE growing up talking about sucking dick. WE SUCK DICK. LOL.. We “slob on the knob.” We’re GAY. Now we don’t like GAY when we see it? We have problems. Regardless of the age, this is the age when you start identifying with your SEXUALITY AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION. It is what it is. And it’s gonna get crazier and crazier. WE ARE GAY, so what do you expect them to be? GAY! I find it telling that we don’t like seeing our REALITY, our TRUTH. Our mirrors. They are products of us. Regardless whether it is on WSHH or whatever other media outlet. WE DON’T LIKE SEEING OURSELVES? CHANGE IT THEN. This is the first big dose of reality for BLACK PEOPLE – period. No more hiding in the CLOSETS. Your children are telling on you.
ME: “Is your mama home?”
Lil kid: “No, my mama say she ain’t here.”
Me: “Is your daddy home?”
Lil kid: “No, my daddy been GONE for three years now.”
REALITY CHECK!
I think the problem is kids this young talking so explicitly about sex period is a problem. Gay or straight it just seems highly inappropriate.
@ Ocky’s previous comment: if so, u right, there’s light @ the end of the tunnel in that area. #Optimism
@ COSHAMO: LMAO! Terrible, but true!! I started my curiosity w/ myself around when I was 12. Pretty early, but aware of what I liked nonetheless.
I hope they be safe in their practices of sorts tho..this shit could likely be promo-ish to them & bring in all types of bad MFs into they life..
I agree. This is reality. However if that was my son I think I would be shocked. Not by what was said but just to hear him speak that way. However I’m not naive. I know how I used to be. I was AWFUL.
I don’t like this because it makes it easy for people to say things like ” all this gay stuff is rubbing off on our youth”
Videos like this just leaves us open for negative criticism.
Being someone that works with children for a living, I would imagine that this is a new form of slang that they may have either heard or are trying to get started.
Let’s take the sexuality factor out of the equation because we don’t know if these kids are gay or straight, even if they were rapping about eating pussy ITS STILL DISTURBING!!!!! This is proof of kids not have had a serious conversation with a parent about sex that anything they do know was learned on the streets.
The argument “Seriously. I’m looking to right of this screen seeing FOUR pictures of JASON COLLINS portrayed as some “hero” is BS, rapping about sucking dick isn’t moving any gay agenda forward if anything it’s pushing it backwards, proving to straight society that their false stereotypical idea that we’re all about sexy, if this was five young girls rapping about sucking dick would it be okay?
@Craig,
I agree with you. And the point is we can’t control how young people percieve so called “heroes”. Maybe THEY think this IS a push forward. And there was no role model to tell otherwise. Or worse an adult sponsored this. This why being a hero should require more than coming out of a closet. These kids could be merely expressing that yes they are gay ,which is coo if they feel they need to publicize it. But is this the way?
Apparently some see a need for “some” morality. And this is the point I want to make in the end. This is a prime example of how an anything goes approach to life by the masses goes very wrong. But no one can seem to decide on a STANDARD. smh
It seems like this is the “anything goes” generation and people wil use all types of excuses to justify poor behavior. If little girls were talking about sucking dick on camera they would receive the same criticism. Due to the age of the children I see nothing liberating or positive from this video. I just feel like social media creates attention starved youth and they do these things for shock value and it should not be justified or rewarded.
Im 30, and Im bothered by it just as I’d be bothered w teenage girls talkin bout suckin dik! I mean, I know when I was their age I was gettin head too…but I guess it’s the video and bravado aspects that bother me.
I saw this as a spoof. I’ve seen a lot of rap battles and it was an obvious cipher spoof to me. I’m surprised so many people are taking the video seriously. I’m more disturbed by the responses the video has received on YouTube, WorldStar and even sites such as HuffPost.
So many people focusing on the boy’s sexuality. Pretty sick. Especially the gays who are acting as if they are happy to think these boys are batting for the same team as them. These are the same gays who been checking for Jayden Smith and Diggy Simmons. Grown as hell checking for these little dudes.
The black community’s response is even more disturbing. All I see is the boys being called fags, gay, and homo. The black community can’t even see past their dick or ass though, so I’m not surprised. We rarely see the real issues so addressing them is out of the question.
They’re being facetious which is probably why you’re feeling sad in addition to the fact that pleasing a man sexually/orally is seen as being dominated and something that is negative rather than an act of love/lust/enjoyment or fantasy in this judeo-Christian society.
