Everyone remembers the video of Brandon White being brutally attacked as he walked outside a local corner store in the Pittsburgh area of Atlanta.  The video went viral over the internet and sparked nationwide outrage as homophobic slurs were being hurled towards Brandon as he was beaten.  Well justice has been handed down to the 3 assailants.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford sentenced Christopher Cain, Dorian Moragne and Dareal Demare Williams to 10 years in prison, with five years to serve.

Bedford delivered the sentences during a lengthy lecture from the bench, calling the men bullies, questioning the sincerity of their apologies and warning them that it’s up to each of the men to change their lives.

We all know that justice is not blind for Blacks in America. The justice and prison systems barely do anything to rehabilitate those trapped in its clutches.  These men absolutely deserve punishment that should include jail time and restitution; however is five years to much?

Questions…

-Do you think five years is to stiff or to light of a sentence for this crime?
-If these were three men beating another with no homophobic slurs used; would the sentences have been the same?
