Ever since I moved out and started grad school in a new city and met some gay men along the way, it is interesting to start giving them all hugs. LOL. They say that is how they like to greet people and I just go along with it I guess. Anyway, yeah there is a similar thing that goes on in Nigeria. My cousin and I were talking about how the lines between platonic intimacy and gay male intimacy in Nigeria can be so blurred. It will be confusing seeing men back home being so affectionate with each other as an American-born Nigerian. I guess my mindset is how it is because of how homophobic the Americans I grew up around can be. But in Nigeria the intimacy is not a big deal but homosexuality is a HUGE deal. It is interesting how it all plays out…

it's the trend with the younger kids. I just left teaching highschool.. A large number of girls considered themselves gay or bisexual. In addition to saying things like"no-homo" or "I'm not gay", many of the boys would say things like, "It is what it is" or "I'm a freak" when it came down to male on male activity.
I can't say just younger cause hell I'm 32 and I hear my generation say it all the time too. Millennials (Gen Y and Gen Z are damn near similar, but they just take it run with it to some extremes unimaginable…lol. Find some examples @Kouncelor and post them in thread. Also I think we are entering to an age of sexual freedom where people don't look at people as a sex but rather a spirit having an experience. As if they just see the inner and give two shits about the exterior. thoughts?
This is how it should be. I firmly believe that sexuality is on a sliding scale. If we were comfortable with our sexuality as a societal whole, we would realize our sameness. Two guys are childhood friends. One develops into his straightness. The other, his gayness. One slid up the scale; the other, down. The same friends who grew up together and were quite comfortable with each other have now developed unease. The gay man may have feelings of shame and inadequacy. The straight may manifest feelings of superiority and objectification.
If we were brought from an early age to respect our diversities while acknowledging our commonality, no value judgments would be placed on being gay or straight. It would have as much value as having black or brown hair.
Needless to say this short, encouraged me about later generations. As well as the immediate future of gay web content??
I think I would be scared as hell to play gonzo grab in high school. We didn't have working showers that I can recall so all of this changing in the locker room is new to me. Depending on how I am feeling most of the time I will gladly walk around the locker room butt ball naked and not care. I also have a tendency to peek/ stare when I see a physically fit endowed Black brother in the locker room in his birthday suit. (I need to work on the latter.)
