Here are the hottest, most interesting trailers (for movies, television shows or anything else) that we saw this week.
47 Ronin
47 Ronin is a fantasy action film depicting a fictional account of the forty-seven ronin, a real-life group of samurai in 18th-century Japan who avenge the murder of their master.
In the spirit of Avatar, Dances with Wolves
and The Last Samurai
could this be another Hollywood example of the white male hero saving the indigenous ethnics? I don’t know but I will admit, even though his facial expressions rarely change in his films, I will always be a Keanu Reeves fan. I’m also a fan of stylized fantasy violence so hopefully it won’t be disappointing.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Hopefully you haven’t been living under a rock over the past decade and you aware that the Hobbit is the prequel to the The Lord of the Rings. In this second installment we see Bilbo Baggins fight the dragon (I aint saying he’s a gold digger) Smaug. Even though I’m fan and know how The Hobbit ends, I still can’t what to see the live action battle on the big screen.
Ender’s Game
Ender’s Game is an upcoming American science fiction action film based on the novel of the same name by gay marriage hater Orson Scott Card. But it’s all good. The movie has nothing to do with the author’s personal views.
After an alien race attacks Earth, the International Fleet prepare for the next invasion by training the best and brightest young children hoping to find the future candidate to lead the International Fleet. The want the new hero to fill the shoes of a past legendary war hero Mazer Rackham. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) is the little great white hope who once selected is trained by Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley) to lead the military into a war that will determine the future of Earth and the human race.
Space battles…I’m there.
X-Men: Days Of Future Past
The trailer plays like a television commercial advising how the company Trask Industries in its 50 years of innovation is paving the way with their knowledge while keeping you, your wife and 2.5 kids safe. How are they keeping you safe? With mutant hunting Sentinels….aw shit.
I can’t wait to see the mutant characters in action. Wait, hold up. I have ZERO expectation for this movie because all the X-Men movies so far completely sucked ass. X-Men: First Class was just okay. Also Omar Sy as Bishop…meh.
Old Boy
Do that shit Spike Lee! Old Boy is a remake of the classic with the same name. I loved this movie but understand it was kinda slow and moody for others. To each its own. I’m excited to see Spike’s take on the classic and it makes me wonder what surprising twist at the end of the movie may be altered. Can’t wait to see this.

All the X-Men movies sucked?! Wait… hold up now Ocky! You can’t be saying all that lol. I remember being in middle school and high school and we couldn’t wait to see those movies man. Those were the movies everyone was talking about after the weekend ended and we came back to school on Monday!
LOL…yeah they sucked. What was good about any of the XMEN films?
I liked X2, X3, and First Class. could do without the other ones.I may be in the nerd minority, but I didn’t like Old Boy all that much. I liked the alley fight, but the rest of it I just didn’t get.
SMH. A life long comic book geek…the X films completely sucked and barely stayed true to the source material. These films completely ruined DECADES of XMen comics.
I excited to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Ender’s Game, and X-Men: Days Of Future Past. But Old Boy and 47 Ronin look good too. I know I will see most of these when they come out, but i been more picky about what I see at the movies now, and what I just wait for Netflix on.
But all these trailers look like good movies to me.
